normally, I'd agree, especially since I really liked the original (not to mention that it was the first Frank Oz movie I liked in years) but it was British up and down which meant, well, most Americans probably had no clue it even existed. I don't like it, but a remake of a pretty universal idea for a completely different audience makes sense to me.
