Not a fan of the director and not a fan of the cliche, but that didn't look TOO bad. A few John McLaine moments in there.

that's my issue... Death Wish shouldn't be John McClaine-esque, IMO. The best thing about Death Wish was Bronson was just your regular joe... who literally went out hoping people would attack him so he could kill. This just looks lame... against the spirit of what made the original so gritty and dark.

I think it would have been perfectly fine if they didn't brand it "Death Wish". People would make parallels, but it wouldn't have to be compared overtly to the earlier movie. IMO of course.

saw the previews and instantly fell in love with it.... usually not a fan of remakes but this series could use a bit of modernizing.... just as they did with "The Mechanic" and Statham

This starts this week. I know a lot of you guys are haters but I am looking forward to it. Loved Bronson,... but I watched DW III a few weeks back and the movie is terribly dated... as long as it is done well an update is a good thing.

I am normally not a fan of reboots...

but it aint like its the backstreet boys remaking Yellow Submarine or anything.

I just think it’ll be a neutered version of the original.

Looks like a moviepass Movie, if anything for me.

it doesnt really matter how good or bad it is. There will always be the taint of John McClain on this version...Willis would have to give an oscar worthy performance to change that.

But I really liked Jason Stathams version of "The Mechanic"... so redoing Death Wish was just a natural progression... I dunno,... maybe they should have stuck with Statham redoing Bronson?

Nah. I think what I love about the original Death Wish is that Bronson just looked like a schlub... not some killing machine. So, when he went gonzo, it felt more regular guy goes nuts. Neither Willis or Statham can do that anymore.

Trying to think who’d be the perfect schlub to do this you wouldn’t see coming. Giammati wouldn’t quite be right. Let me think on it.

I think people are overlooking the fact that this is directed by Eli Roth, one of the biggest hacks in Hollywood.

I’ve got it... Gary Oldman in his Commissioner Gordon look.

A younger Kurt Russel.

He was a great Everyman who you bought could get taken advantage of, but equally bought could raise the ruckus. Breakdown’s proof of that.

Actually... that movie is kinda like Death Wish. He’s just a nice guy, wife gets taken hostage in the middle of the desert and he just goes on the warpath to get her back.

Chris Pratt? Would like to see him in a more serious role to see what he can do. Just trying to think of someone you wouldn't normally think of for this type of roll. GO has played the bad guy to a T many times. I just don't see him in that roll though.

Death Wish

Release date: March 2, 2018
Studio: MGM
Director: Eli Roth
MPAA Rating: N/A
Screenwriter: Joe Carnahan
Genre: Thriller, Action
Website: DeathWish.movie| Facebook| Twitter| Instagram

Starring: Bruce Willis, Vincent D'Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Dean Norris, Kimberly Elise

Plot Summary: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roth's reimagining of the classic 1974 revenge thriller "Death Wish." Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of Chicago violence when it is rushed into his ER - until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his family's assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the media's attention, the city wonders if this deadlyvigilante is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense, action-thriller "Death Wish."

Paul Kersey becomes a divided person: A man who saves lives, and a man who takes them; a husband and father trying to take care of his family, and a shadowy figure fighting Chicago crime; a surgeon extracting bullets from suspects' bodies, and the vigilante called "The Grim Reaper" who detectives are quickly closing in on.

Updated from the original novel by Brian Garfield, director Eli Roth and screenwriter Joe Carnahan's ("The Grey," "Narc") "Death Wish" also stars Vincent D'Onofrio ("The Magnificent Seven," TV's "Daredevil" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), Elisabeth Shue ("Leaving Las Vegas"), Camila Morrone, Dean Norris ("Breaking Bad") and Kimberly Elise ("The Great Debaters"). It's a knife's-edge portrayal that challenges our assumptions, and pushes our buttons.

By bringing the complex psychology of Brian Garfield's book up-to-the-moment and injecting new thrills and a stark, unflinchinglook at the American psyche in 2017, Eli Roth and Death Wish brings audiences to the height of unforgettable suspense.

How about Steve Buscemi?
