My wife grew up watching the Colts and Steelers. The Cards, thankfully, have been decent if not better the entire time we've been together.

If I were to put together a lowlight reel of the years of agony we've gone through, what are some of your . . . Umm . . . "Fondest" memories?

They are who we thought they were? Buddy running off the field before the game was over? Steve Bono's naked bootleg? Losing 30-0 to an awful Cleveland team?

Interested in your suggestions, hope I can find some videos on YouTube. ;)

1997 vs the Oilers- McNair has a 40yd TD run with about 10 seconds left in the half, final was 40 something to not much. Best part of the day is when some poor sap fell out of the stands in the south endzone and then gave a thumbs up, ala Mike Utley, as they were wheeling him off on a stretcher.

Losing to NYJ at home in 1996. Their only W of the year.
I remember Lashon Johnson getting hit in that game and the ball popping straight up 15 feet into the air, man that guy ran hard.

The Cards leading the Vikings 19-10 with 4 minutes to go, first and goal at the one. They can't punch it in, and Kevin Butler misses a 20 yd FG. Cards lose 20-19 on a 50 yd FG as time expires.

Mine was the week following the Bears debacle on Monday night in '06. We played a winless Raider team, and I was sure that after giving the Bears all they could handle(as well as giving them the W), we would respond vs the Raiduz, but no a 20-9 result for a loss. It was a bad week in my personal life as well, maybe that's why it stands out.

I think it was in the Buddy Ryan years, 5 or 6 attempts on the 1 yard line, rushing everytime and failing each time. End up turning it over on downs.

Brutal.

vs. the Eagles. I think. Maybe the Falcons.

The Buddy fiasco was against the Falcons. It was Joe Bugel's team that had EIGHT shots from the one against the Eagles and couldn't get in.

17-7 loss to Tampa in 2007. Cards did almost nothing to justify me siting in the Tampa Stadium with a Leinart jersey on, the only Cardinal fan around besides Cardinal Bob.

AHHGGG close tie between MNM and last years playoff game against the saints. Yes weve snaired defeat from the jaws of victory creatively, with a larger volume of AHHGGG tape than all the other NFL teams combined, since 1898.

But I know a bit of the history, more than most, the 48 championship where the players shoveled the snow to play and lose by 1 messed up TD to Philly.

But playoffs and championships carry more weight, and they are few, I'm proud of Our SB effort in a loss.

but last years Gren Bay game? we were ahead of several teams by 3 scores and our D collapsed last year, But Mike Adams was targeted on ever play it seemed like and failed as a 5th 6th or 7th depth CB, What the hell is going on out there,

MA failed as a 170lb pass rusher 5 times before he got rodgers for the Dansby OT TD,
Adams earned 5 cb pass rushes a playoff game? That game sucked, exciting but we couldn't play for 10 minutes much less 60, proved by the Saints next wek.

I know its recent memory but I think the Saints playoff game is the worse collapse, worst game of in Cards history.

We gave up, folded our tents with 6 minutes left in the 3rd 1/4 in a divisional playoff game? like we get there often or something, We didn't want them to embarrass us further? This team still has that mind set and for that I will not forgive Whiz. ever,

tHT startec the game with a super long TD, and then Beanie got 2 carries prior to our sticking our head between our legs with over 21 minutes left? GB the week before The Bean was the engine of a 3 score lead, right before we benched him so THT could pass block and lost a 3 score lead.

There is no excuse for this happening once, much less every week for 2 years, oh excuse me Edge was treated like a punk for most of 07 and 08, but Our actual wins He was featured.

Our worse loss is yet to come this season after 112 years of infamy. just is, unless Whiz and thwe silent 4 coordinators pull tyheir head out their AZ and balance this baby up, with UFA QB and 2 UFA WR passing 40+ times with DA, can't blame DA cause he sucks.

fundementals, tackling, run defense, run offense, gap control, penalties, we really realy suck bad. cause whiz don't care about these anymore, He's indifferent.

While we are on the topic on attending games, the only time I ever made it out to AZ was November on '97. Steelers at Cards. Joe Nedney (still in the League!) hooked a 50 yarder at the gun, and we lost 26-20 on a Bus TD run in OT. Since that day, my friends in attendance and I still invoke "Nedney" (in the Seainfeld "Newman" tone) anytime something goes wrong.

Ancient history but there was the MNF game against the Giants, widely dubbed as the worst MNF game in history, as the Cardinals missed easy chip shot field goal after field goal to end the game tied.

I think it's the only tie in MNF history I'm not sure.

Ah it is.

oh yes, who could forget the Neil O'Donoghue game....there was a crazy thread on ASFN a while back about Mr. O'Donoghue.....he also missed a huge kick at the end of the 1984 season in Washington, which would have put the Cards in the playoffs....was a long, tough kick but still...
