I don't know where I heard this or maybe read it, but I understand there will be a NT and a DT on the new D line. Assuming I'm right, what side of the nose does the DT play on? Who on the roster has been playing NT in the early camp? I'd imagine we'll be drafting a DT specific to the nose or the traditional tackle.

If I'm right, I'm sure this topic has been discussed to death on these boards, and I glanced through the message board topics trying to find something similar but I couldn't. I just don't have time to hang around these boards as much as I'd like. So, sorry to be bringing up something that's probably dated.

And if I'm wrong about the whole DT/NT question, disregard the entire post...

thanks

Denny calls them a two-gap tackle and a one-gap tackle but you're right. They are essentially a nose guard and a penetrating tackle.

The two-gap tackle lines up at an angle between the center and guard, slanted toward the center but I didn't notice if it's always to the same side.

Go to the Denny Green chalk talk links on te Cards web site. Denny diagrams it there.
