You didn't respond to my point at all. We know for a fact that Rosen does have an issue with holding the ball too long as can be seen by watching tape of last year. Murray could have the same issue as well, but at least with him there is a chance that it isn't an issue.

Also I have never suggested that "running for your life" is any sort of legitimate strategy, but in games where the O-line is really struggling it could easily be the difference between winning and losing the game. When the line plays poorly with a stationary QB you have no chance, but at least with a mobile QB you have some chance.
How didn't I respond to your point?

People keep bringing up Rosen like people bring up Hillary. Rosen's in the past, over, gone. That does not mean the alternative is infallible. I'll guarantee you that Murray's going to be hesitant himself after running for his life from the same porous offensive line.

I don't understand the blind faith in this offense and QB. Maybe a little better? Sure. But there are going to be significant growing pains for the QB, coach, and rookie WRs.

And god forbid, if as suggested, Kyler doesn't play the full season, and only makes it through 13 games. That's the last player on the field you want nursing an injury throughout the season.

I want to see a competitive team. I think we will be better on both sides of the ball. I can guarantee there will not be a single game this year that we don’t cross the 50 yd. line until the final two minutes.

Let’s face it . If we go 7-9 it will mean we were competitive and probably lost one or two games we should have won. But rest assured we will still bit** about it.

Also gang. Can we ever have a thread that doesnt digress into Murray sucks/ Murray is the messiah? The posters question is define success.

I need to hold myself back from the Murray stuff myself, I guess the issue just is... how he goes, this team goes. I don't think any of us see a scenario where we say "Murray was amazing but as a whole this was a bad team," or "Murray was terrible but we made the playoffs anyways."

We've gone all in on the guy.

I completely agree that there was a lot of poor play to go around, but my point is that Rosen had his hand in it as well. His film is littered with plays where he had enough time, made the correct read and then held the ball just a little too long. That caused a lot of throws to end up incomplete, intercepted or complete with little to no YAC yards. This is absolutely something that he can get much better at, but that was definitely a decent part of the ineptitude of the offense last year.

Here's a decent video about Rosen's rookie season.

The late throwing issue is talked about extensively. Much of it sounds correctable as he did not do these things before coming into the league - and he'll be on better teams with better coaching.

I know . It’s hard. Even now after the draft the choice is still polarizing. I know we will eventually all come together especially if we see an exciting team. We have a tough schedule in a tough division so the wins may not pile up.

However, going into next year with cap space, another draft, and another round of free agents and suddenly we went from totally pathetic to great potential.

First off, Murray has not played a single snap in this league yet. We have no idea if he'll hold on to the ball longer or not.

Second, "run for your life kid" is not an offense. Meaning, we cannot expect to be successful if every play is literally "there's someone in the backfield in 2.8 seconds and Kyler has to run around and play sandlot football." Air Raid or not, timing is important in the NFL.

You say stuff often that belies your ignorance.

Sandlot football?

No one expects that and Murray didnt play that way at OU.

Simple. Prove that we didn't make a mistake drafting Murray and trading Rosen. That is all I expect this year.

I don't expect that. It's why I expect him to get hit in the pocket, or also be screwed over by the defender getting to him in 2.8 seconds.

He's going to get hit or have to run away from pressure, which is the point in which things become "sandlot football." He didn't have to play that way at OU because he had 4 NFL linemen in front of him. That's star power at the college level. In the NFL, he's going to have one of the worst lines in the league.

The Draft will be considered a success, IF Delmar stops posting about it.
Ha Ha wasnt going to say anything actually but now that you have said that its something like 4 and 12 or 5 and 11 not because of anything just all the new personnel and adjustments that to be ironed out
