There's a joke in there somewhere about Green's weight, I just know it. I'm too tired to try and figure out where it is, though. Something about him lifting that weight out of bed every morning...vince56 said:Apparently the roof piece that was raised was the largest lift in North-American history, and it weighs in at just about the same weight as the entire Eifel Tower.
vince56 said:OK, looks like we have a full-on Travis Henry/LJ Shelton rumor now. Rich Eisen asked Green about it. Green smiled, laughed, and basically went on to say no comment.
Evil Ash said:However what I found a little interesting was that on the topic of the trade he mentioned trying to get draft picks. I wonder if he's trying to get an extra pick in the Henry trade or if he prefers just to get a draft pick instead.

Evil Ash said:I just found it a tad odd that while talking about the LJ/Henry trade rumor that he'd bring up getting as many draft picks as possible. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it

vince56 said:I agree. Remember, we still have Wendell Bryant, Ray Thompson, & Duane Starks on the team. I don't see Starks going anywhere, but I definitely see Bryant and Thompson moving on... if not a trade, out right cutting them. I'd love to see us trade Bryant for a late round pick, say 5th or 6th round, and trade Thompson for a 3rd. If we did that, it'd be great.
Duckjake said:WBryant is probably the least productive first round selection for the Cards in 15 years. At least Tom Knight actually got out on the field and played. Thomas Jones at least scored some TD's.
The guy got paid millions to do basically nothing.
What a business, the NFL.
JeffGollin said:Yeah, he pretty much did say nothing on the specifics
Separate topic: It seemed to me that - compared to most of the interviews he does with other players and coaches - Rich Eisen seemed less relaxed (& even a bit ill-at-ease) in his interview with Dennis. He always seems to yuk it up with various players and coaches like Mora and Herm Edwards, but he seemed somewhat more formal in the way he asked questions of Green. Anyone else get the same feeling?

Lots of discussion about running backs. Green said they'll get their runner through trade, FA, draft, or the rehab of Marcel Shipp. He said either way he'll have a competent runner that can be "the guy" for 3,4,5, or 6 years (i.e. He wants a long-term answer at RB).
They talked about the roof, how it's good for the Bidwills, symbolic for the organization, and a lure for FAs, knowing they'll be playing in the best NFL stadium ever built.
Talk was brief about the draft. Green stressed the need for wins now. Wins meaning wins in free agency, wins in trading, wins in the draft, wins in the stadium finishing, etc. He did say they'll care less about position and more about BPA... same strategy that last year got us 4 starters with our first 4 picks.
Says McCown's the starter. Said he had a so-so year, and said the team also had a so-so year. Says the team needs to rally around McCown and play better around him and he'll be a great starter.
Talked briefly about the new logo. Green said it's the organization's way of getting behind the coach, determined bird eying the playoffs. I like that
Anyway, good interview, great shots of the roof being raised, and a few clips of Mike Bidwill along the way. Apparently the roof piece that was raised was the largest lift in North-American history, and it weighs in at just about the same weight as the entire Eifel Tower.
Good stuff
