Now I have no backing for this but it might be a possibility. Last year we didn't go out of our way to sign a RB becuase Denny put his focus on JJ in the draft. He was confident he would be able to get him in the 2nd round. Perhaps this year Denny likes Winston Justice with our 1st round pick. He hasn't even looked at OT's through FA. He knows he is graded out to be selected around pick 15 or so, meaning he is ours for the taking.

I think Buffalo is still desperate for a quality LT and, with Ferguson gone, they'll take Justice.

Justice projects as a right tackle not a left tackle. He'd be a reach at our point in the draft not to mention 2 spots earlier.

Huh? He did play right tackle at USC...protecting Leinart's blindside. Which is why everything that I've read projects him as a LT in the pros.

BTW, I might be in beautiful Sierra Vista around early April going to an Army course at Huachuca...I'll be happy as a plum if I get to go!

He played it in college because Leinart was a lefty. The LT they have there now, Sam Baker, is considered a better prospect than Justice, but I suspect if they had a right handed QB Justice would have played LT and Baker Rt since Justice had more experience. Baker is going to be a junior this year.

GREENS SECRECT PLAN

I have the inside scoop from someone inside the organization close to the situation. Here the steps to his plan.

1. Heat oven to 425 degrees.
2. Peel, core and slice the apples. Try to keep the size of the slices even.
3. Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt in large bowl.
4. Stir in apples.
5. Pour into pastry-lined pie plate.
6. Dot with margarine.
7. Cover with top crust and seal the edges. Cut slits in the top.
OPTIONAL: Cover edge with 3-inch strip of aluminum foil to prevent too much browning. Remove foil during last 15 minutes of baking.
8. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust.
9. Top with vanilla ice cream and enjoy.

He's ditching the Mint Brownies?? He ALWAYS goes to the Mint Brownies if the apple orchard gets ravaged by worms.

And repeat until you are as big as a house and have to wear a Cardinals Moo Moo to the Edge press conference.

That was not a Moo Moo. It was the Cardinals new line of Car covers.

I'm actually one of the team trainers. ;)

I was told to stop giving the players oranges, before the game and at halftime.....switch it up to Brownies. He wanted a more concentrated source of simple sugars. I think our performance at the start of the halves show how effective this new strategy is.

The draft info I've read on him have him as the only OT that would fit equally well at both LT and RT. But, since he has the ability to play LT, then he most likely will end up playing there.

Ferguson - LT
Justice - LT/RT
McNeil - RT
Scott - RT
Winston - LT

Regarding the plan.. I doubt that Denny are looking at OT at #10, but he may be looking at trading up and grab McNeil or Winston. The Broncos are reportedly shopping their two 1st rounders, because they will have problems fitting them under the cap.

I'd consider giving up our #1 pick next year for Denver's #22 this year.

Now that would be gutsy and would tell us a lot as to Green's honest opinion as to how good we might be this year.....it could be a wash, a deal or a big blunder. Talk about playing a poker hand.

I think it's a case of Justice shooting up boards because teams know they aren't going to get Ferguson, and any team looking for an OT is overvaluing Justice. He's a great athlete, but he's not as good a player as people seem to think.

Last year Sam Baker was voted 3rd team All American, Winston Justice nothing. Sam Baker first team all Pac 10, Winston Justice honorable mention all Pac 10. Now I'm sure his reputation didn't help him and those things evaluate the player in college, not his pro potential, but in general Baker is considered the better prospect. After the Rose bowl, Anthony Munoz said not only is Baker the best Ol prospect USC has had since Boselli, he's the best LT prospect he's seen in MANY years. He said he thinks Baker is a better prospect than Ferguson because he's already 305 and only a soph and appears to have the frame to gain weight easier than Ferguson who has always played lighter.

Justice is talented for sure, but I think he's moving up mock drafts largely because the other guys on the list aren't all that good. Once you get past Ferguson there's a huge dropoff, I really liked Winston at one time but everything I read says scouts are not convinced his knee is 100%, that he really struggled last year, and he's not nearly as highly regarded as he once was.

What's with the obsession on Winston Justice on various threads.

He's rated fairly high by many of the books, but not as high as #10. What about #42 then? It's possible (though not terribly likely) that he'd fall to us there. But why Justice? there are other very good offensive linemen that could be as equally likely to fall to us in Round 2. There's McNeal, Lutui, Colledge and Winston (all tackles). Or Joseph, Spencer or Jibari Evans (guards). Or maybe Mangold drops to #42. Certainly Eslinger will still be there.

That's 9 linemen (in addition to Ferguson and Justice) who'd be in the Top 42 pool of top players. Do we really believe that 20% of the players drafted before we pick in the second round will all be offensive linemen? A few of them figure to drop to us there.
