Denver Post: Dampier Decision
Golden State Warriors center Erick Dampier said he is leaning toward opting out of the final two years and $16.9 million of his contract, and will decide by Friday. That could be good news for the Nuggets.
The 6-foot-11, 265-pounder plans to arrive in Oakland, Calif., on Monday to meet with his agent, Dan Fegan.
He hasn't talked to Warriors officials.
"I'm trying to weigh my options," Dampier said.
The eight-year veteran averaged career bests of 12.3 points, 12 rebounds and 32.5 minutes per game last season. Denver, Indiana, New York, Memphis, Dallas, Utah, Atlanta and Miami could have interest.
He has said he would only be interested in returning to the Warriors with an extension in hand.
While Dampier is interested in the Nuggets, he believes there could be a potential playing time logjam with Nene and Camby.
