The lack of aggressiveness in those teams seems to relate to the fact that Burrow, Brady and Mahomes are Hall of Fame QBs and Belicheck and Reid are HOF coaches. Especially in the case of NE and KC, having that QB and coach combination hid alot of weaknesses that would have been exposed otherwise.

CIN is actually an example of a team who has been unwillinging to spend since the Superbowl when they should have. Joe Burrow has had one of the worst defenses in league since then. He is coming off of an MVP quality season where they didn’t make the playoffs and their best defensive player Tre Hendrickson is now leaving.

CIN Owner is cheaper than Bidwill.

Well yeah, that was kinda my point. Getting a good QB is key. Rarely does blowing lots of money to support a bad one work.

We should do that first.

We are on the eve of FA.

This could be a Charlie Brown/Lucy moment but I am feeling pretty confident in the Cardinals right now.

I think we make a splash at edge and DT.
JG loves his War Daddy's and also players that buy into his system, so it's likely 1 or 2 come from his Eagles tenure.

My #1 choice:
Hendrickson (trade) and Milton Williams

My #2 choice:
Hasaan Reddick and Milton Williams

My #3 choice:
Josh Sweat and Milton Williams

Eh…30 years old and having to pay him 30 per and give up picks? Monti would never do this…especially in a draft full of edge rushers…if we get sweat I want grant at 16…if we get Milton Williams I want edge at 16…
He won't, but he should. The quote was a day two pick. Money should be no obstacle. A day two pick is no obstacle. If we could make that trade, you make it 10 times out of 10. Writing off that kind of trade is a poverty franchise mindset. Trading for him in no way stops you drafting a young edge prospect as well.

I loved Mekhi Becton coming out of college but he was a bust at OT.

I think switching to G has saved his career and he could be the next Leonard Davis.

Would love to see the Cardinals get him as well.
I would prefer Willis. Huge disappointment at LT, but heard several saying that he could become really good at G or RT and the Browns stupidly insisted on keeping him at LT because of his draft status - he was drafted 3 spots ahead of the best OL in the league

why would you rather have the guy who has stunk at his current position and hasn't proven that he can actually be good at G or RT at all over the guy who's already proven to be very good at G?

Well, if that's MO's MO, then it'll be pretty clear he's following right in line with previous FA periods where the belt was mighty tight spending money.
In general no.

In this case yes.

Most believed Willis’ natural position was RT - not LT when drafted. His body type is better suited at G. Browns never tried him at any other position than LT.

Beckon has been out due to injury in almost half of his career.

I’m NOT saying I would pay a premium for that chance, but he could be an interesting fit. And basing it on the analysts and experts that I believe the most.

Preferred option at G is hands down the G from Indy. But I would take a chance on Willis over a player that has missed 36 of 82 possible games.

What is Monti’s MO I do not know. If I suddenly became the spokesperson for him, then I need a raise

If you’re asking for a raise, you better ask for back pay while you’re at it because you’ve been manning the position for two years now.

This really just feels like a preemptive strike to defend the middle of the road/cheap Guard addition that’s likely coming in FA.

Well. Making up an stupid motive for my views is on you - not me.

I was answering strictly on Willis over Beckton. Read anything I posted on this free agency. Have not expressed the wish to sign either at any point. I see both as lesser options.

My by far best option to sign at G would be Vries from the Colts as I have stated multiple times.
