Being a Bridgewater guy I didn't put Love it, but I definitely like it. If Bridgewater was off the board, it would get some love.

Don't mind the player but don't like at 27. So I took the middle of the road choice.

Agree - he could end up being very solid (I think he will) but seems like we could have got him a bit later if we could have traded down a 2nd time.

Belichick was going to take him a couple picks later according to Jason La Canfora. If they didn't take him there, they wouldn't have gotten him. All four of the starter quality safeties were gone by the Niners pick at #30. In a very thin safety class, the Cardinals did well to get their guy and still get the extra 3rd.

Once Calvin Pryor, Ryan Shazier and Anthony Barr were off the board, they got the guy who helps the most in 2014 on both defense and special teams IMO.

The guy is a good player but I don't like taking a SS in the first round. To me that's just a little better than taking a punter in the first round. I put I hated the pick. Not so much because of DB but because we passed on Johnny Manziel. You just don't pass on a franchise QB for a SS.

I do think 27th spot was a bit higher for him,but if the rumors were real bucannon could be selected by patriots or even san francisco.
He has all the tools to be great, has probably more upside of any safety in this draft.
The reaction about his early selection are due the fact he didnt play for a big name college.
His stats show he had a constant permorfance during his tenure at washington state.
Lets wait the field, many here were also skeptical about daryl washington

I think pryor was ranked lower then bucannon.
They manifested the intention to add a player in the secondary to provide lenght and giving much more protection downfield ,especially covering big receivers

Agreed. I just pointed out in another thread that there has been 1 first round SS drafted in the last 20 years.

He is athletic enough that he should be able to develop into a better single high option. I understand your reservations but I think the Cardinals go tit right here.

When Shazier went off the board I was thinking the Ravens would take a

Alabama player and then the Jets would take Cooks. So I already had Pryor

as a Cardinal at that point. Lol

#24 is one of my all time favorite cardinals. Getting a new SS in the mold of his size, power and athleticism has me giddy.

I have done many flex cheers when a-dub used to CRUSH people and I hope do to the same for this kid.

Just saw a picture of him and hes a twig but thats normal for such a youngin :)

I voted Like It because I don't know him as well yet.

My concern initially was that he was productive because he was a safety on a bad defensive and just was the one that had to clean up everyone else's mistakes.

Started watching some film. He hits hard, he is very long, looks like he has excellent instincts and he is a turnover machine. Turnovers are so important. With Bucannon and Matthieu you have some real potential for turnovers and game changers. He is a senior and will be productive immediately.

Looks like a solid, but not flashy pick. Low risk.
