Derrick Hall loves the sound of his own voice.
It's posts like this that make me wish we have a "Dislike" option.

Why attack an executive who takes steps to protect the public, especially
children, from injury while attending a ball game?

And to do it with a meaningless insult rather than an intelligent rebuttal.

Maybe if people would pay some attention? Is that a better response?

Yeah how dare a 2 year old not pay better attention??

Maybe the 2 year old's parents should have? I sacrificed my body on a line drive foul ball once protecting kids who weren't even mine. Pay attention and protect your kids.

You clearly knew exactly what I meant but couldn't resist your dominant pompous ass gene. Well played.

The speed on which some of these balls are traveling is faster than the human recognition and reaction time.

To say “pay attention” is grossly underestimating the problem.

Exactly right! The typical speed of a ball coming off a bat is as high as 100 mph.

Picture an adult in a crosswalk having to avoid a car coming at 100 mph.

Seriously? That ball came at them over 100 mph. Love to see you try stopping that.

Yeah right! The ball came off his bat so fast, no way the dad could have got in front of her as she was sitting on his lap. I highly doubt could have even used your body to protect her if you were the dad.

Look at how fast the reaction was by the player and catcher(its even in slow motion). Fast forward to 53 seconds.

Do you really expect fans to pay attention to every single at bat and every swing?
