He's been injured most of his career but if he comes cheap with incentives, he'd be worth a look.

I'd still take Mewelde Moore a first FA option, but Foster makes for an interesting number 3 option (number 2, for me, is a draft pick).

Foster IMO would be an upgrade over Arrington and Shipp. I wouldn't pay much for him, though.

Foster has talent, there is no question of that. The problem however is that he is often injured, and when he does play he fumbles way too much!

There are better options...

I'd take Foster as a #2 in a heartbeat. The guy is very talented, and had big play potential. As a #2, with 10-15 touches a game, he would be great for us. He's much, much better than Arrington and can probably be had for about the same price.

Ditto that.

Foster would be a good #2 behind Edge, IMO. I think you could give him 5-7 touches a game and he'd make an impact and stay fresh (read: healthy).

He has achieved NFL success that Arrington and Shipp have not. I would definitely consider him for the right price.

Seems like there is an abundant number of decent players being cut this year. Our problem, for the first time in a long time, seems to be do we have any money to sign any of these guys? From what I read we do not at this point. I think I read that we have $17 mil tied up with Fitz this year. Is any WR in pro football worth that much money? The average as of today for the top 5 WR is 7.48 mil. Fitz is one of the best but still can a team afford to have that much money in one player other than a QB? Did we make a foolish contract deal with Fitz on the front end? I do not know the answer to these questions and am just posing them. The Patriots have not designated Moss as a franchise player and his contract is up so it is likely they are working on a deal with him. Probably somewhere in the 7-8 mil range. His base salary last year was 3 million and he earned 2 million in bonuses. It is no wonder that a team like NE can build a dynasty when they can sign the best WR in football for what could be chump change for Moss. Many teams lose the season in the front office before the season even begins.

Whenever I watched DeShaun Foster and he was healthy, in both college and the NFL, I liked his play. That's all I know.

as a panther fan... hes ok, we saved 4.75 mil by cutting him. he never had over 1000yds an fumbles alot, mostly because he doesn't know when to go down, he will keep fighting (you think a good thing till u see it, he doesn't hold ball tight) dances in holes, always tryin to break one, instead of takin what he can get. for cheap yeah sign him but he's only a #2 back

if u have any ?'s just ask

Do we want to go into the season with Edge and D Foster as our RB's? #2 RB has to be a blue chip rookie: Mendenhall or Stewart.
I would sign Foster if we cut Edge. Then draft a RB at 16.

Why would we cut the MOST durable RB in the NFL for one of the least???

The Panther poster probably doesn't. However that is something that most Cardinal fans believed prior to the emergence of internet message boards.
