I really doubt this is a legit trade but I agree with what someone said above. This is the best trade I have heard of so far.

This is a superb deal. But it leaves us with no starting PF next year and probably smack dab at the capline. MLE on a starting PF? Not to mention 4 rotation guys at minimum salaries that have to be considered.

I say do it though, and try to get a 2009 pick.

This would be to get a run this year and clear up cap space later. Then they would have a future guard in Stuckey and an additional draft pick which the Suns need.

PS. You don't want their 2009 pick because it's #20 I think. That's basically useless.

What is this "Stuckey is untouchable" garbage? Wow 13.6 ppg, 5 apg and 3.6 rpg and he's 22. He's like a crappier version of Rondo. Are the Suns planning to use him similarly to how they used Rondo? i.e. use him to get rid of Hill's exorbitant contract? Is that Amare's present value? I wish I could stop living in the past. I can't.

I like this trade, & hope we do it. Rasheed Wallace improves post defense rebounds & floor spaceing. Plus he is an expiring contract, so the Suns aren't stuck with him. Plus we get a good point guard also. I would think that DET would throw in a pick also.

If this is true, and I can't imagine it is, and the Suns are committed to trading Amare, this is the deal they should pull the trigger on. I never thought the Pistons would throw Stuckey in the mix. Suns get cap relief while getting, dare I say, a PG of the future. Too good to be true.

I agree this probably is not legit and too good to be true. If those Detroit Radio guys blow as much hot air as some of our local radio guys...then there is zero truth to this.

The only worry I have is that it's hard to build any championship-caliber team without a big man. Rasheed would pretty much be a 6 month rental most likely. Shaq by himself up front is a scary proposition.

If we did this it would be for a run this year. If it didn't work out, Shaq would be gone next year I would imagine.

Yup - any move with Detroit involving Rasheed is one last attempt to make a run this year. Then they blow it up this summer -- unless the team plays deep into the post-season and Rasheed discovers the fountain of youth Shaq and Hill are drinking from.

I still say they fire the coach and keep Amare. Play Shaq less with Amare and more with the second unit, and save him for the grindhouse games in the playoffs. Run and gun like crazy to get up to the 5 or 6 seed, and then see what happens.

Am I the only one who thinks it's imperative that the Suns get a young big man back in any deal for Amare? And no, Rasheed Wallace isn't a player I consider "young".

Stuckey's nice, but he'd make the Suns guard heavy and weak in the middle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Suns have been down that road before.

It is a fair deal, but Very hard to believe. Stucky is the only PG they've got. They don't even have a second PG in their entire roster. Then what? AI and AI only? Meanwhile, if we really receive Stuckey, Barbosa's time in Phoenix is essentially over. Trade him for a young big man in another deal?

Neither a.i nor stuckey are real Point guards, but a.i is just as much of a point guard as stuckey. they just like to play a.i off the ball now. After that they also have will bynum.

What? Anti-Nash? When discussing moving major pieces of this team and trading them to either take another title shot or rebuild it has got to include discussing Steve Nash. This has nothing to do with my feelings for DA....ZERO. I simply stated that when DA left that i felt that moving his system guy and rebuilding was the right thing to do....thats all.

Nash is not just a systems guy. He is a two time NBA MVP.

You bring in a young stud at PG and if you want to rebuild Nash has to go. No?

No. Nash and Stuckey could play together and rotate minutes. Another guard might be traded if all worked well.

Try not puckering up whenever i mention the guy ok?

If you what to throw elbows or give cheap shots expect to get some back. OK? You're not running anything.

Well, if the Pistons figured that out and really put it on table, I say take it with a heartbeat.

Can we find a deal for a decent young big man by Barbosa?

Under DA's system yeah. Nash is an offensive catalyst, an uptempo, unselfish, whiz of a PG(and i love the guy AND his game) but if it weren't for DAD unleashing him in '05 i'm not sure if Nash even sniffs those MVP's.

They could play together i suppose, but hasn't it become clear to you that Nash needs/deserves to finish out his career playing for a legit contender that probably doesn't run their offense exclusively thru their PF or C.
Trade who? Barbosa? JRich? Take their minutes away so we can keep our aging former MVP PG?.....no thanks.

Did i take a cheap shot at you Street? If i did i apologize but i don't think i did.
Oh and btw, i am running something.....a fever:(.
I got hit by this damn flu bug last night trying to get my car jumpstarted in the rain.
