Days before he left the Eagles for the Steelers, Darius Slay made headlines when he excluded Jalen Hurts from his list of elite signal-callers. During an appearance on the Pick A Side podcast, the cornerback named four players he considered the elite quarterbacks in the league.

Slay listed Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes. Days later, on his Big Play Slay show, the cornerback said this about Hurts.

“Hey, fans, look, I got nothing but love for Hurts,” Slay said. “I know I probably could have said it a little bit different for folks. But me and Hurts talked, that is my brother always. Like I said, I’ve been always giving him praise each and every day. Even told him in person when he was a rookie — I told him this was going to be his team, man. And this is his team.

“Shout out to that boy man, I love that man. I don’t have no hard feelings about none of that. We talk, we text. We got a great understanding. He knows where I’m coming from, he knows I love him. He knows that.”

One of Slay's former Eagles teammates is expanding that list and adding another player. During a recent appearance on '7PM in Brooklyn', DeVonta Smith told Carmelo Anthony and Kazeem Famuyide that he's made a Big 5 and is putting Hurts on the list.

"If I ain't got nothing in this city, I know I got him."

With the win over Kansas City, Hurts made a list of Signal Callers to play in multiple Super Bowls and win a championship in their first five seasons. The other QBs who did so are Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, PatrickMahomes, Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner and Russell Wilson. Hurts is the third NFL QB to win a Super Bowl after losing in their first appearance, joining Len Dawson and Bob Griese. He is also the first todefeat the team they had initially lost to in the Super Bowl.

Earning Super Bowl LIX MVP accolades, Hurts combined for 293 yards (221 passing, 72 rushing) and 3 TDs (2 passing, one rushing) with a 119.7 passer rating in the win over Kansas City. Hurts also broke his Super Bowl QB record with 72 rushing yards, becoming the first QB to have multiple Super Bowls with a 100+ passer rating and 50+ rushing yards. He is the second QB to post a 115+ rating and rush for 50+ yards in a Super Bowl, along with Joe Montana in Super Bowl XIX (1/20/85).

Hurts owns the highest career completion percentage (73.3%) in the Super Bowl in NFL history. His 109.4 career passer rating in the Super Bowl is the 4th-best in NFL history, trailing only Joe Montana (127.8), Terry Bradshaw (112.8) and Troy Aikman (min. 50 attempts).
