This should be an interesting series as Estes takes on Dessens on Friday. Vasquez vs Erickson on Saturday and Ortiz pitches against Lowe on Sunday.

Gonzo makes it 4-2. Even though Clayton has not been hitting well, he makes some really good defensive plays. That one in the last inning was a beauty. Melvin needs to drop him dow the lineup though.

Tough loss but hey, I like the fight in this team. We should see many of these type of games. Hopefully we come out on top more often than not.

Yep... still far more entertaining than last year... when we'd get down by one run in the first and KNOW that the game was virtually out of reach.

Sorry guys but that was a dumb move by Melvin. Lyons hasnt pitched in over a year and he was making ..what his 3rd appearance in 4 games? I said it when he came in that I thought there was no reason for him to be in there.

Don't get me wrong, I like this team but I thought that was a real bad decision.

Don't get me wrong, I like this team but I thought that was a real bad decision.

How is it a bad decision? If he's the closer, he needs to be able to pitch in the games, plain and simple. He did it in two other outings, along with during spring training. Being out for awhile, I feel is no excuse.

That said, I don't think he ever should have been named the closer. Now that's something I'd be willing to complain about.
