Cardinals won the wildcard so the Diamondbacks are playing in Milwaukee on Saturday.

No matter what happens in the postseason, I am so grateful this team gave us such an exciting year of baseball. I honestly didn't even expect them to make it this far, but I sure am glad to be proven wrong.

With that being said, what say we make it one step closer to the promised land by defeating the Brewers in the NLDS? They may have home-field advantage and be a great home team, but we have proven we are capable of defeating them in Milwaukee before, so let's just do it some more!

I am convinced the D-Backs will win for one reason. While the D-Backs are willing to take on a fight anytime, anywhere, the Brewers aren't. They have to set up the situation just right before they want to engage.

They burned their best home field pitcher in game 162 because home field advantage was so important to them. Ironically, that might cost them because now their best home pitcher will go on the road and their best road pitcher will go at home. The D-Backs would have liked to get that advantage, but their mentality is "screw it, let's win anyway".

The Brewers seem to have all their hopes wrapped up in the home field advantage. They place a lot of importance on which pitcher starts at home and which one starts away.

I won't say we are in their heads. I think they are in their own heads. And it will cost them.

Hudson worries be a bit because his last couple of starts he's gotten into major trouble. When he gets into trouble he gets rattled and with the added pressure of his first playoff start, it will be very interesting to see how Danny holds up mentally. The first inning will be huge for him. If he can settle in, I like his chances to pitch well.

I fully expect him to contribute to our only loss in this series.

Willie leading things off right! I'm stoked for some playoff baseball! Haven't been this excited about baseball in a long time.

Matt Williams sends Bloomquist home on a line drive single and he was thrown out by 20 feet. I know they want to be aggressive but that wasn't even close.

I like being aggressive but that was just a bad decision. I think the Brewers are better in many ways than us. Our one big advantage is that top to bottom, we're a much smarter team than they are. Let them make the dumb plays, casual errors etc and we have a decent shot to win this series despite their gaudy home field record.

Kennedy's already thrown 30 pitches with just four outs.

Great job by Kennedy getting out of that with only 1 run.

This ump is garbage. Calls strikes at cy's ankles and now at Roberts armpits. Not giving Kennedy ANYTHING low or high. Gotta love that 5 feet tall hometown strike zone

Kennedy's just not hitting his spots. Sometimes missing badly. Gritting it out so far with only giving up 1.

I agree but most of that came following the ball 4 call that put Weeks on base and forced Kennedy to throw a couple thousand more pitches. The pitch looked good to me. Maybe it was a ball, maybe it was a strike but I'm quite sure it would have been a strike if we were at bat. I agree with Bert, this Ump is killing us.

Some of those have been bad calls but umpires usually give the benefit of the doubt to the guy hitting his spots.

Not me. Although I think I just put sugar on my french fries. If I add ketchup to my Pepsi I'm calling it a day.

Agreed but my point was I didn't think he was having trouble hitting his spot until after a few bad calls.
