The crowd at the game tonight felt like a football crowd. I was at Game 2 of the World Series in '01, and it was not even remotely as engaged as this crowd was tonight.
Maybe it was my section (102, where Goldy hit the Grand Slam and where we verbally taunted Corey Hart all night), but it seemed like the entire stadium was rocking.
That was just an awesome game - the crowd had the confidence of a winner, with the subtext of angst that I can only say I recognized from the SDS AZ Cardinals days...a small undercurrent of anger and chip on the shoulder. Combine that chip with confidence, and the crowd surged.
That was one of the more fun baseball games I've attended, perhaps the most fun.
