So far, so good in game two. Gonzo gets his 500th double, Tony Clark pinch hits and brings in two runs to make it 6-3 and Russ Ortiz goes down!!! Thom was a little worried that the injury could be a little worse than it looked because the injury was close to the knee. Hopefully Thom is correct. Cruz did not pitch that bad under the circumstances. I would not mind giving him a try in the rotation.

Counsell makes it 7-3 D'Backs in the 6th. Best inning of the year.

Congrats to Gonzo!!! Now he can settle down and get back to the business of raising his BA. Also I thought it was an extremely classy move by Steve Finley to allow Gonzo to score from his double. He had a real good chance to gun him down at the plate as shallow as he was in center field, coupled with his usually dead on throws. He obviously was showing respect to an old friend.

Diamondbacks win 7-4! This was one game I thought they would lose. Let's start a long winning streak.

You could call me crazy but but everytime Tony Clark pinch hits he seems to actually get a hit! I'm glad he takes that role literally! :)

Davannon's a stud. I love this guy, he should start everyday over Green. He just hit a bomb to left to tie up the game. Tracy follows up with a double. Knock him in Gonzo

Davanon's bat is on fire. You keep him in the line-up until he cools off.

Davannon season stats:

.419 BA (13 for 31)
1 HR
11 RBI's
.486 OBP
1 SB
5 BB's compared to 2 KO's

Those stats just changed cause he got another hit!!! Keep him in the lineup, Bob

UNBELEIVABLE!!!!! Counsell tags and takes third on a fly ball to right. Then he tags and scores on a shollow fly ball barely out of the infield!! He is def one of the smartest baseball players I've been lucky enough to watch. I love him on this team

Clark hits a double and brings in Davanon. 5-1!!! As for the Counsell run, you can blame Finley for not calling off the shortstop.

Any questions??? DaVannon knocks home a couple more RBI's with his lastest hit, a triple. He has the cycle in sight....

Brandon Webb is off to a great start this year. The team was wise to lock him up for the future.

Go Snakes.

OK, I realize I am being a bit unorthodox but why not have Vargas lay down a suicide squeeze bunt there? I mean, get him to tail it down the 1B line and there is likely no way to get a double play with all the chaos ensuing trying to get Jackson out. Would the Giants really expect that type of play with the pitcher?? I kinda doubt it but, again, even if they did, I still think the odds favor only getting one out and then the top of the order.

I know...radical unorthodox thinking...and maybe even the true odds say oterwise but I would have gone that way rather than having my pitcher hack away.

Me, I'm wondering why the hell Vargas was batting, for one thing, and second, why they let him swing.

and WOW -- Kudos to Shawn Green and Estrada -- Green made one of the best throws from the OF I can recall seeing by a Diamondback. Finley-esque.

Oh, I agree but he should have been ordered to take strike one for sure...and probably even two strikes. I get why he was batting I guess but he should have just stood there and taken the K rather than hit.

I still like the idea of laying down a bunt though.
