Pena seals the deal, Dbacks within a game of first place. Webb goes for the sweep tomorrow.

Good game in the end. Bullpen was weak but it was a bend-don't break "strategy" that had the Orioles right where we wanted them.

6-3 dbacks top of the 8th inning looks pretty good right now for the dbacks if they can hang on good sweep especailly after getting swept by the yanks

So that puts the D'backs right around .500 (if not right at it) for the road trip.

.500 is what alot of people predicted at the start of the season.


The question is could the team be better than a .500 team this year? If they were a steady .500, you'd think not.

But, as hot then cold then hot then cold as they've been, you have to wonder.

If Melvin's lineups weren't so sporadic (sometimes he hits it, sometimes he doesn't -- in other words find the winning combination, then stick with it), perhaps the D'backs could be expected to do better, especially in a weak division.

Streakiness is inherent to baseball - all teams go through streaks. A young team is doubly prone to streaks. Dbacks are doing better than most expected - I have been happy so far overall.

We also got the O's manager fired which opens up Leo Mazzone.

i think they said lower back problems.

According to ESPN it was the very low back. On their update scroll they said he had a strained gluteus muscle. Not sure why we needed that much detail.

Oh, and I enjoyed these Orioles. I look forward to playing them again soon.
