Another disappointing loss. I know Wagner is a great closer, but I sure expect Glaus and Cruz to do better than they did with those ABs in the 9th.

Game Notes
THE HOME RUN BY ARIZONA'S LUIS GONZALEZ IN THE EIGHTH INNING WAS THE 300TH OF HIS MAJOR LEAGUE CAREER.

B. Halsey (L, 4-3)
R. Wolf (W, 6-4)
B. Wagner (S, 14)

Just from what I gathered after reading the inning summaries..it appeared today was a microcosm of the Dbacks season... Not executing with RISPS, the bull-pen issuing a run in the later-goings which made it even more difficult for the Dbacks to attempt to overcome an earlier 4+ run deficit and I'm trying to figure out the tendency of giving-up the constant BIG inning...

Also... a runner being thrown out at home during a crucial instance and it seems that the opponents are more familiar with Halsey's scouting report now, so he must make some immediate adjustments or else.....

Well, let's hope that they manage to at least salvage one game of this series....

How big was that bullsh*t call on that homer that wasn't? How in the world can an umpire say he saw the ball hit the flowers when it didn't. Check this out. By the way, it is time to bench Clayton and put in Cintron.

Lieberthal did see the replay and felt he got a break.

"I saw it on the video board and it wasn't a home run. It was about two inches short. I'll take it though," he said.

Arizona manager Bob Melvin was ejected by second base umpire Dan Iassogna for arguing the overturned call.

"The umpire (Scott) was right there and made the call and was overruled," Melvin said. "Iassogna said he clearly saw it go into the flowers. It's not going to hit the flowers and bounce back like it hits the pad.

Are the Dbacks actually going to blow this game???

Wow.. didnt they dodge a bullet there or what? Isn't it about time that Bruney is demoted? This guy even makes Ligtenberg look like Cy Young... He absolutely has no reason whatsoever to be on the Dbacks roster.....

Well.. at least the Dbacks managed to salvage the final game of this series... Also, a 2-5 road trip thru the rather difficult confines/environs of NY and Philly...

Now.. it's back to AZ to take on the Twins and Royals. Should be an entertaining home-stand this week at the BOB......
