Diamondbacks win 6-5 as Q hits two home runs and Tony Clark adds another. Webb did not pitch a Webby game but the Diamondbacks pull it out. Papa Grande with another save.

It's unreal how much the organization has revamped the bullpen since Joe Jr's departure.
How so? Valverde, Lyon, Medders, Slaten, Gonzalez, and Pena were all with the team or in the system prior to his departure. The only newcomer is Cruz. The Diamondbacks have for whatever reason always been really good at developing relievers through the farm.

Thank you, Jorge Julio! And congrats to CQ for getting back over the Mendozo line in a big way.

Ha ha! Welcome back to Chase Julio! I was worried the Dbacks curse would have kicked in and we would have made him look like a Cy young candidate, but thankfully Julio hasn't changed.

Good call to whoever said we'd lose 1 game in this series and that game would be a great start by our starting pitcher and we'd only score 1 run.

The bullpen can't be perfect all the time and we can't win all these close games every time, but hey better win the series tomorrow. Can't lose series against worse teams before the schedule gets tougher.

This is one of those times I wanted to be wrong.

We wasted our chances in the 1st and 2nd. We had Fogg on the ropes, and let him off the hook.

Not one good start, but 2 with no run support. It's hard to keep being patient waiting for these kids to take off.

Man, that was a rough ending. Two on with only one out and Snyder had popped up his last at bat. As long as he doesn't hit into a double play, Clark comes up with two on still trailing 2-0. Perfect time for some late game heroics by Clark. Instead our guy gets picked off leading too far on his way to third and when Snyder does pop up it is the final out. :bang:

Had some great club level seats tonight - too bad the game ended like it did. :computer:

Something has to be done soon.

Why? What were you expecting from this team? If it was anything other than what we are seeing, I think thats a problem with your expectations, this team is doing about what it should be doing. Wildly inconsistent, not much offense, no slugger, Melvin not having guys run enough, etc. The injuries were of course a surprise, but that has let other guys get playing time. Lets not pull a Joe G and trade away young pieces for marginal veterans. I'm happy being patient and watch the Dbacks scuffle for this year.

Except Joe G had a pretty good track record when it comes to keeping young players.
