that was a fun game last night

I was in the bleachers so I didn't get a real good view of the home plate play, but it looks like it was the right call

the cintron play was incredible ... what was he thinking?!?

No, no, it's Claudio Vargas.

Anyways, 5-0 Twins in 3rd. In other words, the game is over.

This guy gave up 1 run to the Dbacks in 6 innings just a few weeks ago.

He could not make an out against the rest of the league and was released.

Now he's pitching for the only team he can shut down.

Is that Ironic or just moronic?

We all knew the outcome before this game started. We should of gone to Vegas and made some money.

Vargas, Koplove and Herges thru 8 innings have only given up 10 runs.

Koplove was growing a mustache yesterday, now he shaves it thinking he'll do better. Not! Maybe he should shave his head. Seriously, why do they keep bringing Koplove in?

It's safe to say Herges's decent ERA in San Francisco was due to Pac Bell's outfield keeping the volleyballs he lobs over the plate inside the park. I know I'm being repetitive, but Koppy and Valverde need to take themselves and their stupid nicknames to Tucson where they belong.

Zenny - Is Medders or anyone in Tucson better than these clowns? I don't know how they could be worse.

Medders is currently the closer in AAA Tucson, and is doing a decent job and has an ERA of 2.08. He could get a call up in a couple weeks.

Aquino is closest to call up, I think. I've been wondering when Medders name would come up - I suspect they are being verrrry careful since it was exactly one year ago that he had surgery for a torn labrum. He is really just now getting velocity and control back where they used to be. I'd imagine pretty soon he'll be up.

Not to call up ghosts, but - Shane Nance is doing pretty well in Tucson, also. Hell, he couldn't be much worse than Koppy, Bruney, Herges, Vargas. Tolar is also worth looking at.

Does anyone wonder about Mark Davis or Glenn Sherlock, btw? I heard some Twins guys talking about how their pitching coach gets a lot of credit for their BP working so effectively.

Diamondbacks are up 4-0 in the 4th. Cintron starting at short has two hits and two rbi's. Keep Clayton on the bench. Javy pitching very well right now.

I like Cintron's bat in the lineup, but his glove is still a liability (Tuesday for example). A rotation where Counsell occasionally plays some SS with Cintron at 2B could work well.

4-3 in the top of the 7th. The bullpen will decide if the Diamondbacks win or lose.

Why not keep Cormier in? Bruney lets two get on.

I was at the game, and Cruz' s at the wall catch was like classic Steve Finley, and delightful to see. I love good defense.

I suspect they didn't want to push Cormier because they are going to rely on him frequently - he is the most trustworthy reliever right now. However, bringing Bruney in when Lopez was cruising - lefty-righty matchups or not - seemed nuts. Really, Lopez isn't normally especially good against lefties, either. I hate to think how that place would have erupted if Bruney had lost the game. That doesn't deserve to be called a save. Ulcer, maybe.
