Wide receiver Stefon Diggs might have given a hint as to why he signed with the New England Patriots in an Instagram story.

The four-time Pro Bowler turned heads in the NFL world after agreeing to a three-year, $69 million deal with the Patriots. It's a lucrative contract for a 31-year-old coming off an ACL injury, but there was likely more than just money at play for Diggs.

On Thursday, he shared an old image of Mike Vrabel in a Patriots uniform. Vrabel has built a reputation as a player's coach. Perhaps that played a role in Diggs choosing to come to New England.

Diggs recorded 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns last season before going down with a season-ending ACL injury. All eyes will be on his debut in New England. He is currently on track to play in the season-opener.

When healthy, he has proven himself capable of being the weapon needed to help elevate the play of quarterback Drake Maye and the Patriots' offense as a whole.
