From the write-up on NBA.com about Stoudemire being named Western Conference Player of the Month for April:

With eight free-throws made in his final regular season game at Sacramento, Stoudemire surpassed former Suns’ player Connie Hawkins record for 577 free throws made in a single season totaling 583.

I would have guessed that Barkley held that record. But at any rate, it's pretty impressive that Stoudemire is already more adept at getting to the line than any player in Suns history.

Wow that IS amazing. I can't wait to see Stoudemire in a few years when he has really learned the game.

Tom Tolbert loves Stoudemire. During the game last night, he said, "I'm convinced that in three or four years, when he can make that outside jumper consistently, he's going to be absolutely unguardable." Pretty high praise!

Connie had two really good seasons after he was finally let into the NBA. He had one season where he practically dunked on almost every play. The only way to slow him down was to give him hard fouls.

Didn't Stoudemire shoot 100% from 3-point land in the last game? He's turning into KG!

Tom Tolbert rules - my favorite announcer. And he loves high scoring - no defense teams. I miss when he and Walton were doing playoff games together, I hope they do that again this year. Tolbert and Tirico are funny as hell sometimes too though.

I always got the feeling that Walton didn't like Tolbert that much. I thought maybe it was why the don't work together anymore.

LOL

Tolbet would always call him out on the stupid stuff he would say.

Tolbert is pretty funny, and a UA guy.

Yes, that's why I posted a while back about finding all-time Suns stats. Amare and Shawn will be blowing up the Suns record book. Amare is already 11th in made free throws. He should be 7th by the end of next season. He's already 8th in blocks. Fun to follow right now as a Suns fan.

I wonder what the record for most free throws in a playoff series by a Sun is? I would not be surprised to see the Suns focus on getting Amare the ball more as teams try to stop the Suns outside shooting.
