Yep, Superbowl hangover. Their done. Warner's done. Haley's gone. Blah, Blah , Blah.

I think we went a long way to silencing some of the critics. We traveled east and handlely beat a team that gave the Colts everthing they could handle.
Warner ? Well he looked like the old, er, new, old( you know what i mean) Warner.
The offense looked in playoff form.
The defense looks improved.

If not for the punt return team and Beanies second fumble, the Cards may have scored 48 pts.
What a difference a week makes.

A victory over the Colts next week would move us up on everybody's power rankings. Of course, a loss would mean hearing Superbowl hangover.

Yep, waht a difference a week makes.

If we win next week, it will be huge and the critics will start talking about the Cards being good again.

If we lose, well, we'll be 1-2 and only beaten a not very great Jaguars team.

We should have silenced them with this, but I really hope we beat the Colts!

All things being equal, we need more success before the critics stop leaning against us. Neither of the Bengals' Super Bowl runs changed the perception of them in the long run because they never could become a consistent winner. Even after the Bucs were good for a while, they [and Dungy] were still called chokers in the media.

Add to that the Colts had the Jags at home, the Cards beat the Jags on a "dreaded" West to East coast trip.

LOL!

Regarding the question, silencing the critics? Naw, not until the Cardinals once again make a playoff run this year. And even then...

The critics will always be there. Without playing a single down with our team they live to not talk about us or just plain have this picture of what we are and always will be. I've seen it as many of you have since 1988. We only have 14 games to go. Our home field is critial games to win. Last year 6-2. Losing next week will match all of last years home loses. We must win the next game and it is winable if we just follow last weeks plus play all 4 quarters.

The critics will always be down on the Cards. At least for the foreseeable future.

There is a lot of history to overcome. It will take years to change perceptions.

On NFL network when Kurt Warner's performance was brought up all Deion Sanders could say was how bad the Jags defense was. On NBC all Olberman could do is make cracks about Warner's age.

Very few could just say "good job" and move on.

No critics were silenced. If they beat the Colts handily, then the talks will slowly come.

We would have to run the table, beat everyone by 28 and win the Superbowl before half the critics give us any attention

Here is what I love: last season Cards go undefeated in division and it is considered pointless since it is a "weak" division.

The 49ers start out 2-0 in the division and there is no mention of a "weak" division, only that Singletary is putting his stamp on the team and the 9ers are looking solid...

Except they will say that Anthony Gonzales was out, therefore the Colts lost because of that...

Strange but true.

The Cards were lucky to win the Jacksonville game. The Jaguar receiver makes that last catch and we're looking at 31-24, and who knows what happens.

Badly missed tackles led to TD's. Can't pick up 1 yard rushing for a first down to put the game away for good. Gave up TD passes on 3rd and 10 and 4th and 10. Let up once again in the second half of a game where they had a huge lead. #1 draft pick wonder boy Wells can't hold on to the football.

If the Cards don't get their act together Manning and the Colts will destroy them.

More reverse psychology.

Antrel Rolle is a freakin' disaster on punt returns and DRC couldn't tackle a 90-year-old woman in a wheelchair.

The Cardinals are just lucky that McFadden wasn't flagged for that obvious P.I. on Tory Holt. Without that, the Jags get the momentum.

The Cardinals were very lucky on the two Wells fumbles and don't forget Boldin's bobble that fortunately went out of bounds.

I see Rackers missed ANOTHER field goal. That will cost the game against Indy. Can't have that.

All around just another very lucky day for the boys in red and white.

I think Whiz going to Leinart too early made the entire team let up like the game was in the bag. I don't think we were lucky we clearly were the better team and if not for substitutions early we could have scored more and probably won in more of a blowout as the Jags would not have gotten the ball so much. Not only did he go to Leinart to early he also dumbed down the offense which resulted in the Jags getting the ball back repeatedly! Again we had a few bounces go our way but to call it luck that we won is a huge stretch, when it was our starters the score was 31-3 after all.

Do the Cards even have a second unit? I know they don't have enough active players to have two full second string squads. 45 less punter, kicker and long snapper.

I haven't watched the dvr of the game but i don't remember seeing subs simply as a result of the score other than Leinart.

Stupid Directv didn't turn on the HD part of Sunday ticket so I got to watch the cruddy picture you get from a regular broadcast on an hdtv so it was hard to tell who was playing especially in the front 7 at any given time.

Good post.

Unfortunately, many of the Warner critics reside right here on this board. A couple meaningless preseason losses and a Division loss is all it took. So exactly what are we expecting from everyone else?

It will take making it back to at least the NFC Championship game to quiet some of the critics. Even then they will say how terrible we will be next year. That's our love.

Critics will never give the Card any credence at all. The only to really shut them up is to WIN. When we win next week it will give them pause but they will find a way to make excuses for our victory.
