I don't think we can write off a new Star Wars movie simply because it went to Disney. When Marvel was sold to Disney, you heard another collective moan, but The Avengers is one of the best superhero movies ever. Not saying the new Star Wars will be as good, but I think they have earned a benefit of the doubt.

I'm not sure why there is so much hate for Disney on this thread in the first place.

If Disney made 1-3 I have no doubt they would have been better. I am thrilled by this news. Disney is great.

Disney will do a good job and reinvigorate the franchise.

Also think they will re-release the originals and hype them as the true originals.

I hadn't thought of that, but you're right. They will make a mint if they market her like they have the others.

Side note: Disneyland has a "Jedi Training Academy" show that is really well done and a ton of fun to watch. They choose kids from the audience to participate. IMO it's the best of all Disney non-ride entertainment inside the park.

This is great news for the franchise. Disney already does Star Wars great at the parks, from the Jedi Training academy to the new 3D Star Tours. They will pump this franchise up, and Princess Leia is going to be the hotness for the new princess collection.

Hand over fist, Disney. With Lassiter there, I trust just about anything Disney wants to do.

That video is old. It was from a promotional video made for the ride Star Tours.

He's looking to offset his tax liability when the new tax codes go kick in after the first of the year in Marin county. Without the sale, and subsequent establishment of a charitable origination (he's not just giving it away), he is off the hook for upwards of $300 million in taxes for 2013.

Or so I read.
