Was it all worth it? After a lifetime of treating Draft Day as our Super Bowl, I am left to ponder "what if". What if Pendy had played more prevent during the season & we finished 4-12? What if Warner gained 25 lbs instead of losing it? He could have been sacked 105 times & we could have finished the season 3-13. What if our entire secondary was decimated by injuries by week 5 & we finished 2-14. Even if we just allowed the second half meltdown against the Eagles to continue, we would be picking #21 instead of #31. Instead, I'll have to wait about 6 hrs until we finally make our 1st choice. OH, THE PAIN OF IT ALL!!!

Think of it this way...

1. You get to sleep later.

2. The Cards get to use less of their total cap space on rookies (since they won't need to spend a gazillion bucks on a top ten prospect).

3. The Cards are more likely to have the luxury of drafting to fill a need - since, at later levels in the draft, they're likely to have more prospects (rated similarly) to choose from. (i.e. When you draft high, it's more likely that there will be a guy too good to pass up - even if you don't need him; whereas at #31 or #63 - unless someone sensational drops to us - there's likey to be several players carrying a similar rating).

Sorry but Distraught won't be on the board at #31. Will be long gone by then.

I disagree, I think that Desperate and Disaster will both go ahead of Distraught and he may drop to #31.

I'm with you PACardsFan but what I'm looking forward to hearing is "Now picking the defending NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals. True, Super Bowl Champion would've sounded better but it's still going to sound rather surreal to hear that. GO CARDS!!

Funny post, PA. Take comfort that one thing will never change -- whoever we pick at #31 will be disliked by half the posters. This is especially true if we take the Pitt RB who has been tagged by some as "having no vision."

Funny post. :)

I have been making a list of things to do on draft day since I'll have so much more time in the morning than usual.

I'll probably watch the draft like always, thumb stuck securely in my mouth like on the last drive of the sb...
