Yeah, we know how it feels... The Cardinals were just inches away, every year for the last 30 years. Last year they were inches away from the Lombardi trophy. Haven't you heard, "it's a game of inches."

All that matters is which side of the chain you end up on. :p

That's why I said anything could happen. It's just the parity of the NFL.

and you know this how? is it because you are a Cardinal fan? if you even watched a little bit college football you would know that Crabtree is the most NFL-ready player to come out of the whole draft.

His footwork and hands are the best out of any WR drafted in the past 4 years. He will be a very good #2 WR at WORST! I don't even know how Crabtree will be a bust when he actually fell in the draft to us at #10
C'mon, I agree he doesn't look like a bust but to say the above bolded comment is equally ridiculous. WRs are always a crapshoot and are rarely effective in their first year. Boldin and Eddie Royal were bigtime exceptions to the rule. The most NFL-ready player in the 09 draft was Aaron Curry. I would be willing to bet that the Cardinals' pick at 31 has a far more productive rookie season.

The 49ers were inches away from beating both the Cards and the Dolphins last year. And if it wasn't for that turnover machine JTO, they would've beaten the Eagles and Patriots last year as well...both teams that they lost due to JTO. The defense finished 13th overrall even with a bad first half start by Nolan. They actually finished top 4 in points allowed after Singletary took over.

The 49ers will be a tough minded football team next year no doubt and that's all that will matter at the end of the day. No way we finish below .500.

Everybody is talking as if Shaun Hill is a scrub when in fact he's been a winner all along.

Record: 7-3
Completion: 64%
TD-INT: 18-9
Passer Rating: 90.5%

Yea, he isn't Peyton Manning or Tom Brady but he gets the job done. I am more than comfortable with Shaun Hill starting.
Agreed, but Alex Smith could come back and surprise. I believe they will make the right decision about starting QB after the preseason.

I never said he will be the most productive. All i said was he's the most NFL-ready out of everybody meaning he doesn't need alot of nurturing like most rookies. I don't know why you made it seem like it's a realy rare thing to break out as a WR in the rookie year. I could name a bunch of WRs who did well in their first year

Desean Jackson
Dwayne Bowe
Calvin Johnson
Marques Colston
Donnie Avery
Greg Jennings
Andre Johnson
Santonio Holmes
Larry Fitzgerald

I think the 49ers would be very happy if Crabtree even gets 500 yards his rookie year. We have a bunch of other guys who can contribute like Bruce, Morgan, Brandon Jones, Jason Hill, and Battle.

If you say so. I watch college football. Texas A&M offense helped him a ton IMO. Wont translate well to the NFL. Also with WR's you just never know. IMO he is overhyped and will be a bust. Your right I dont know as you dont know if he will be a star thats why I stated an opinion. Nothing more or less.

My point was they were good enough to compete last year with the best of them. Now with a little more time for Singletary to prepare the team, they should be better.

Why hate?

Ok, let's say Texas Tech's offense helped Crabtree put down big stats. However, that' not the reason why people liked him so much coming out of college. The reason why people loved him was because of his playmaking ability, his consistent hands, and his ability to get YAC. That's not Tech Tech, that's all CRABTREE.

Niners are the only other team in the division that will be competitive. I would imagine the Niners having a season that resembles our 2007 and that is not a bad thing in the least.

The only reason I don't think the Niners will win the division over the Cardinals is because I think the Cardinals have taken the step from competitive to contender.

Regardless, Cardinals vs. Niners will be the crazy game that it always is. Throw records out the window, etc., etc.

But I would be absolutely shocked if the Cardinals lose the home opener.

THIS!
The 49ers have already gone on the record and said they are not expecting much from Crabtree his rookie year.
Yet you're going to have "the haters" jump all over him if he doesn't have a outstanding year.
Haters are going to Hate.......I guess.

any team that has a starting QB battle between Shaun Hill and Alex Smith should never be mentioned anyhwere near the playoffs. They have the worst QB situation in the league. Minnesota has every aspect in place except QB and they can't get over the hump. SF has zero aspects in place,no QB,a psychotic head coach, and will be no threat to any decent team they play.

Let me say forgive me for not reading this whole thread, but just the last page.I may repeat what someone else has already posted.

Kurt Warner is also known as the "Niner Killer".Every game except one we all very well remember that Kurt Warner has started against the niners he has won.

The one game the Cardinals lost was by Neil Rackers missing a 20+ yard chip shot field goal that sent a game into overtime and then Kurt became the goat with a fumble in the endzone.

I'm sure Kurt won't be repeating that part again. The main reason the whiners wanted to wine and dine Warner away from the CARDINALS was to end the reign of the "NINER KILLER".

Kurt has at least *4* more games to add to his prestigious record against that team of the past. Then he will retire and pass the torch to Matt.

I think by then they will by on another coach by then.York will still be the owner and nothing will really have changed. They may still be playing in that wreck of a mess they call the stick.Unless an earthquake helps it collapse a day or two earlier.:)

I like Coach Singletary, have great respect for his play and Playing Knowledge. I hope that, as a fan of his he'll be a great head coach, able to transfer that expertise. except against the Cards...
