1999 as a high school senior: Missed three games with toe injury.
2000 as a Texas freshman: Injured vs Houston. Limited in Holiday Bowl with pulled leg muscle.
2001: Battled ankle injury all season. Had ankle surgery to remove bone spurs after the season. Missed spring scrimmage while healing.
2002: Missed Tulane game with hamstring injury. Was "slowed the better part of five other contests" because of it. Left Houston game because of injury.
2003: Got tired of Googling his injuries and quit. Somebody else pitch in here. There's just too much information.

On his leadership abilities:

"When K-State scored its' last touchdown, I went over and told the defense, 'If you all can just shut them out the next 14 minutes I promise we'll win the ballgame. I went to the offensive line, threw my mouthpiece about 80 yards, said some harsh things to them. 'Give us a little time.' We got em turned around, falling down, they gave us some time and I dropped it. (The linemen) gave it right back to me on Sunday -- 'We can't have that.'"

On getting thumped by Oklahoma four years in a row:

"Freshman year I don't remember," said Texas' Williams. "I think I had four catches for 16 yards. (The score was) 63-14. Next year was Superman's year. Like the first four passes were to me. I got big gains off of 'em. Then, I don't know, lost 14-3. Last year one big catch. Hobbled with a hamstring. Had one big reverse that everybody said Tommie Harris caught me from behind. That's about it."

Incidently, called OU's secondary the weak link of their defense in '03, providing bulletin board material and a nice chuckle for Derrick Strait. Then promptly went out and lost 63-13. Williams was shut out on the scoreboard, again, against Strait.

On his hamstrings:

"They're tight," Williams said. "When you can't touch your toes, it's a problem."

So I guess drafting a WR who missed an entire season with injury would be a bad idea too (-:

The Hamstring thing is a real concern, one would assume they've heard of stretching so it's not something easy to remedy. He is a marvelous athete but it could be a real concern. I still have him rated ahead of Fitz.

FYI, per a Raiders board, Mike Williams is running 4.5's consistently with some sub 4.5's and he's only partly through "speed school". That said, the Raiders according to Tim Kawakami are now leaning towards taking Gallery not Fitzgerald.

Exellent post. Red Flags all over the place. If Fitz and M Williams are gone just take another position.

Yeah, if he just would have had 7 more TD catches in the first game (an NCAA record) they would have taken it to OT at least. Bahahahahahaha :biglaugh:

OU's going to be good this year wally. really good

As in national championship good. I would LOVE to see OU play the (co)canes in the BCS game. Whatcha think man? Miami going to be up to snuff in 04?

Better than last year for the Canes. Canes only need to replace 6 1st Round draft choices. No biggie. Lock & Load.
