Do we get a break next season or do we get hammered again.

I was looking at the opponents for next season and was wondering if the Schedule makers will hammer us again and start us out on the road against INDY and the Rams and then make us come home and play Philadelphia and Seattle early in the season not allowing us to build momentum for a breakout season. This last season went much like that early. I would hope they would start us out at San Fran and bring us home to play the Titans or the Texans so we could build some early momentum. But we are the Cardinals so we will probably have to just beat the Colts and Eagles right out of the gate.

Yeah, I am sure the schedule makers will screw us as usual..we get no respect. We have a pretty tough schedule next season...we could be a very excellent team and only wind up 8-8!

With the Cards luck, I could see opening season on the road vs. Rams, then on the Road vs. Eagles, at home vs. Colts to start the season...

But the Eagles game is a home game and Indy is on the road?

Just busting ya'. At least when the new place is done, we have a chance to open the season at home...and the NFL should do just that, for the next 16 years running! After making the Cards open on the road every year, we should open at home every year for the next decade plus!

Well, if anything next year will show whether or not we can compete with the big dogs. It's going to be fun to watch.

Ahem. I don't think we got hammered particularly this past season. Most of the tough teams we played also played Seattle, StL and SF. And the teams in the NFC West didn't exactly have stellar W & L numbers this past season either.

But in terms of early home games, non-Sunday afternoon games and outdoor games against cold weather opponents -

In a perfect world, I'd like to see us: (a) open at home, (b) have 2 home and 2 away games in our first 4, (b) play at least one game on a Sunday, Monday or Thursday night or at Dallas on Thanksgiving and (c) schedule away outdoor games against cold weather teams like the Giants prior to Thanksgiving week.

The mysterious "Schedulemakekers" don't care about us one way or another. If they felt anyhting at all, it certainnly wouldn't be disrepect, it would be a desire to make a schedule in which every single game was a good one. How can you say "they don't respect us?" If they did respect us would thay have us playing SF and Miami every week? Or would they give us a challenging schedule?

They won't schedule a home game for our first game until we get the new stadium. After what happened to Kory Stringer, they won't risk players health by making them play in 120 degree heat.

With one more year at SDS, my preference is for no day time home games in September. It's just too hot. Other than that, I don't care.

Looking at the opponents I wondered the same thing. We always play week 1 on the road, so hopefully it's at Detriot.

Last year I thought the same thing also, but as the schedule dribbled down, the schedule didn't look so tough. Such as Seattle, St. Louis, and Atlanta. (all playoff teams)

The games I was happy to look at last year we failed. Like Buffalo, S.F., and Detroit.

The Cards need to concentrate on a winner, I can finally say that we're rebuilding instead of sitting on our hands. So my answer is........don't worry, be happy.

I agree with this totally and like that we are building so that it really wont matter who we play. I however would say that I would rather not play Indy and Philly right out of the gate sandwich between the Rams. Sandwiching the Pats and the Atl game in between two conferance games last season early didn't allow the team to get momentum. If we can come out of the gate early and defeat a San Fran or a Seahap team and beat a TITANS( with a nod to BRV) team...our young team could see there for real and can beat the Colts and the Eagles...I agree the Cards need to concentrate on winning the games that there supposed to win (SF, Det, Houston) and stealing ones where they might be overmatched. As to last years schedule I can not see how anyone could have been happy with the schedule makers since of humor with the early schedule. It sucked for our young team to have to go up against the playoff teams right out of the gate with two of them on the road.

I can see those threads of that game week blossoming already :talk:

People, please, don't just throw that game in as an "easy win". The Titans will be right back at the top again like they normally are. They had a huge onslaught of injuries this year. The only man on D who played an entire 16 games was Bulluck. Plus, the fact that all of their backups got some extensive experience this past season, means they are going to be deep!!! And, with all those injuries they still played a hard fought season all the way to the end showing thier heart. Its just most of the fans who have no heart had to leave the games at halftime

My guess on Cards schedule order for next year:

1) @ Dallas
2) @ IND
3) vs. Eagles
4) vs. 49ERS
5) @ Seahawks
6) vs. Tenn
7) vs. Jaguars
8. @ STL
9) vs. Redskins
10) @ Giants
11) BYE
12) @ Houston
13) vs. Seahawks
14) @ 49ERS
15) vs. STL
16) @ Lions
17) vs. Panthers

Are any of you sick of facing Detroit as much as I am?

Yes.

But at least their uniforms have looked cooler recently.

Honestly, I kind of like playing them. Next year will hopefully be a really exciting offensive matchup. If Charles Rogers shoulder doesn't snap in half, they'll have a really good offense. Rogers and Williams vs. Fitz and Quan is one of the better receiving matchups you'll see.

I agree--great match up--but I am still sick of them, unless the put us on for the Thanksgiving game (he, he, he)

Exactly. We just need to concentrate on being the best team in our division, the rest is gravy. Also, who would have thought that Miami would be so bad this year? I think the Texans game won't be as easy as we think. They are primed to have a break-out season. I think the Rams, San Fran, and Seattle are for the taking. If we can have a 5-3 or 6-2 division record, we'll make the play-offs.

I don't care about playing Detroit as long as we beat them.
