Do we ride Palmer for another year or start a rookie QB?

I know I'm asking this after arguably his worst performance this season but looking at the future what do you guys think? I like his chances to get better after another offseason with Bruce and more time to build chemistry with the offense but will he be good enough? Would you guys rather have us draft a QB early on and just sit him or just draft other positions? (OT, OLB, S, etc.)

Doesn't matter what we do in the draft we need Palmer back next year. Would like us to draft a QB but not necessarily in round 1.

Despite a putrid game, you can make a strong argument he is in the running for team MVP.

You ride him and hope with an improved line he just gets better

You have to keep the momentum going and ride it as long as you can. Now is not the time to start over with a new QB. The NFC West is going to be a dogfight next year and we're going to be right in the mix.

Palmer did not blink , after all that had happened throughout the game , when the team (and all of us) needed him to throw the winning TD pass , Palmer threw it perfectly .
Palmer should , and will be our starter next season .

Well, the guy looks like total crap at times, but you cannot question his heart. That drive for a TD after we fell behind.... as clutch as it gets. And, it was all possible by him completing a pass on the run on 3rd down for a first down, which I can't recall him doing all year.

That said, draft a QB still, but don't hand the reins over immediately.

We will draft around 20 so doubt Franchise Qb will be there. Palmer if healthy can put this team in the playoffs and this D could win it all next year. After season in BA's offense he is the man for next 2 years.

I don't feel like i have a right to comment considering the lack of faith I have had in our Cards this year. It does make you wonder how good we could be with a better QB. i assume everyone feels the way I do in that we could tolerate Palmer another year, but still hoping that one day it will be our turn to draft a Luck, Ryan, even a Flacco to be our QB for a decade or two.

Rookie QBs are expected to come in and play, so I am not sure you are drafting one to sit behind Palmer. That being said, I have a tough time believing the Cardinals will cut Palmer before his bonus is paid in March and then toil for 3 months with Stanton being the QB. Not the best way to follow up a positive season.

They will have Palmer for next year and if they draft a rookie, he will have to beat Palmer for the job. One year at a time with Palmer.

Stay with Carson and fix the O-line which has played pretty well the second half of the season. I stay with Carson with a year under his belt of what the offense should look like. Carson if he can do as well as the team did with 10-11 wins will be a hero in this town.

Keep in mind most of the whoa's were early in the season when he and everyone else were trying to pick up this offense.

Assuming we can pick up next year where we leave off this year is an exciting thought.

Palmer stays and starts no matter what QBOF we may draft.

Yeah, this team is too good right now to change QB.

Even if we draft a total stud QB, I'd still say let him sit a year and watch Palmer. For every rookie QB that gets thrown in the fire and flourishes, there are 10x as many that could have had better careers if they had been allowed to sit and learn for a bit.

Yeah, I agree with this.

I tell you what... I had no idea Palmer was such a mentally tough SOB until he played for us this year. To have four picks, yet make the plays he made on that winning drive. That is a gunslinger mentality and you have to love that in a QB. He could've fallen apart like DelHomme did in that playoff game against us in Carolina, but he just put the bad plays behind him and did what he had to do to win the game.

CP has stabilized the QB position for the first time since the all too short Warner era. Yet there are threads with posters deciding that another 2 years tops is in the "cards" him. I agree that the Cards should be bringing up his replacement but I do not beleive the backup is on the roster now. And hasn't been for many years. If I'm wrong tell me who he is/was?

SB favorite with Big Ben.

That is all.

Hahaha, you want to dump Palmer because he is too old for a QB who is just as old and has not done anything since winning the Super Bowl. He is on the downside of his career. They seem the same to me, but Palmer has not raped two girls. I'll pass. Now if you wanted to dump him for a QBOTF, you would have a case.

Well, they talked Stanton up big time when they signed him. But, how in the hell can we know how good he is when he hasn't taken a snap all season? I can't believe Lindsey is on the roster, there is definitely a great case to be made for taking a QB early,.

We get to see Palmer play against the whiners at home, after a complete season to go off of. Palmer has played a whole season, that's amazing for us, and until today I thought he was improving as the season went but between the ankle, the chicken defense, and just not getting a couple breaks.... even Wilson had a stinker.

I aint against drafting a QB very early in the draft, I don't much care when he starts. But Carson aint going to be around forever.
