Yes

I was doing a survey in my head of which AZ professional team came closest to winning a championship. I ranked them 1-4.

These were my answers.

Best Ownership Cardinals
Best GM Tie between 1a McDonough and 1b Keim
Best Coach Bruce Arians
Best Star Player in terms of overall Larry Fitzgerald
Best Young Star Alex Len

In all of my answers the Cardinals were number 1 in almost every category.

Larry Fitzgerald is no longer a "star player"

yes, you have hope that we can do it. My question is that if you feel there is no chance, ever, why bother?

I never said there was ZERO chance.. Just don't think they will.

How many sports teams have never even sniffed a championship? How long did it take us to come close? Odds tell me no… Doesn't mean I don't hope for it though. Big difference then the picture you're painting.

There is difference between hope and expectation.

I hope to win the lottery or date a Play Boy bunny or even to get a satisfying job in southern Florida with a 50K raise. I expect to make it safely to my home at the end of the day.

Always had a glimmer of hope along with being the home town team

if I thought we would never have a chance I would get a new hobby.

A glimmer of hope, sure. I'm sure Cubs fans have a glimmer of hope too.

I voted yes, btw.

I guess I take "do you think the cards will ever win a championship yes or no" differently then other is all. Of course I think they will win one. If I didnt I wouldnt bother being a fan of the nfl.

All good responses. However, I am sorry to say that the correct answer is NO. The AZ Cardinals will not win a super bowl in any of our lifetimes according to the 2099 Sports Almanac. They will come close once again in 2052, losing to the Beijing Dragons 42-40 on a last second FG.

As close was Big Red got to claim of winning a Super Bowl

Greatest Big Red RB in history Ottis Anderson as NY Giant in 1991 Super Bowl where he was MVP.

Interesting that Harvey Martin and Randy White are shown against Big Red and not from the Super Bowl. Also interesting how center Tom Banks and other Big Red offensive line member is beating them. Not surprising to fans of the era since we know that Big Red line was best in history of football. Also the picture of Ottis Anderson is not Ottis Anderson . He wore #32 for Big Red and #24 for Giants. Guy in pic is wearing #46. Ottis should be in HOF. He was the Bus before there was a Bus.

50 years old and i am really starting to doubt it, had it not been for our miracle season with kurt warner i would have said absolutely not, but that gave me a little hope for the future, although this season left my candle of hope barely flickering
and to think what might have been, and yet their is a very real possibility that we are going to watch russel wilson hoisting a lombardi in our house in just a very few days.......sickening

I know we have won championships.

Shane said "How many sports teams have never even sniffed a championship?"

I said - "In the NFL? Two."

I based that on teams at least appearing in a Championship game or Super Bowl.

Four current teams have never reached the Super Bowl: Detroit, Cleveland, Jacksonville, and Houston.

Detroit and Cleveland each have 4 NFL Championships (and 7 more Championship appearances combined).

So that leaves Jacksonville and Houston as the "two."

Depends on your definition of "sniffing a championship," I guess. Jacksonville did appear in 2 AFC Championship games. I just figured "sniffing a championship" meant at least getting to the final game.

I have faith that the Cards will win a SB within the next decade. Just a few missing pieces from the current roster to get it done (starting with the most important- QB)

Actually, the current Browns franchise has only made the playoffs once. I know it's a matter of semantics but being real and not taking into account that they are allowed to keep their history in spite not being in existence for 3 seasons.

Yes you are correct. Been too many years since I saw his face for me to recognize from that picture. During the 70s and 80s the Big Red was producing a good stable of running backs.
