This comment would hold more weight if he wasn’t 2nd team all NBA just a couple months ago. He certainly isn’t going to be trending upwards with us, but that doesn’t mean we will see a steep decline in the next couple years either.

Would he tweak his salary to enable the Suns to pay for one of his buddies to play with him? He just might. Who knows what behind-the-scenes maneuvering this could trigger. I am fairly certain that it is against the CBA for a player to restructure his contract to get less money.

On the contrary. If this fast tracks our way to the playoffs over the next couple years than that is absolutely setting us up for the future.

It would be giving our young guys playoff experience as well as opening the doors for other good free agents to join us in the future (more likely to join a playoff team that could contend with them added).

This should also help with the play of both Ayton and Booker as the presence of Paul will make their lives easier. Harden for instance had arguably his 2 best season ever with Paul by his side.
