Do you really think Cards would trade Rosen and turn over the QB job to Murray?

So my question is this. Would you draft Murray and trade Rosen if you were certain (even though you could be wrong) that Murray would be as good, and possibly better, than RWilson? I would guess this has been addressed but I haven't been able to keep up with all the Murray threads...

Yes, and I like Rosen. Terms have to be right though, I expect a first round pick or comparable player in the Rosen trade.

Well, if after season one, Rosen is still worth a first round pick, I'd ask myself what do they see that the KW fanboys don't?

I have no problem rolling with Rosen.

I have no problem taking Murray at 1.

I think they both can be great QBs.

If Cards think Murray can be more successful with us than Rosen, I am in, just get some value back

I also want to ask the Rosen bashers that if he is so bad why do they think any other teams would want to trade for him? If he is so awful why bother with him when they(other teams0 can draft another QB in this draft? Why the trade rumors about Rosen if he is just plain bad?

Well, as soon as you pick KW, Rosen's value drops and you end up getting him out of town ASAP because the chances of this working out in the dressing room are slim and none.

I am not taking a position (Murray vs Rosen) but I think you are missing the point.

Rosen is going to be a solid NFL starter. He is young and very cheap (cap) for the next 3 years. IMO, teams will covet Rosen.

The only reason this is a question/debate is Kyler Murray's fit into KK's offense. If we didn't have KK and ran a traditional offense, this wouldn't be a thing.

It would not be the typical conservative move that Kiem likes, so if it happens, it would be unexpected.

The Cards will at least double their wins next year based on the defense improvements; talent/coaching and the fact the offense has to improve significantly. So they play it safe, grab Bosa and everyone feels better about the Cards after winning 6-8 games. That is what I think will happen.

I’m a Murray fan but I give it a 15% chance they blow up the plan and roll with Murray. They wound to get BLOWN AWAY by a team for Rosen and be COMPLETELY sold on Kyler.

KK was brought because he was thought of as being able to improve Rosen.Dumping Rosen after a year to take a chance on a small QB for any system is bordering on reckless IMO.Small QB is still small QB in any system.Murrays assets are supposed to be strong arm and athletic ability..correct? So how does his running ability factor in with the air raid offense/ So KK`s going to run Murray around in the shotgun? 1RB offense?

i trust the organization if they make the move
the only murray issue is the height, then he is more accurate, he doesnt need an all pro offensive line cause he has the super agilty to avoid the pressure, is a better thrower while scrambilng, he is a much better runner, he has more attitude to win games

  • ROSEN ------------------------- --MURRAY

  • accuracy 7------------------------ accuracy 8
  • arm strenght 8-------------------- arm strenght 9
  • running ability 6 ------------------ running ability 9
  • pocket presence 7 -----------------pocket presence 8
  • field vision 7 ----------------------field vision 8
  • mindset 6 -------------------------mindset 8

You don’t know if he doesn’t need an all-Pro line because he has had that all throughout his career dating back to High School.

Are these Rosen's "Pro Numbers" or "College Numbers"?

Until we hear reports of an actual offer involving at least one 1st rd pick in the high-mid round we can’t assume there’s huge interest. Right now teams are probably sending out lowball feelers like any smart team would. As we get closer to the draft and teams start realizing how underwhelming guys like Drew Lock and Daniel Jones are those Rosen offers will start looking better IMO.

The line is good.

That’s the key.

Kyler can make an already good line into a better one.

Kyler won’t be able to make a bad line into a competent one.

Being really athletic didn’t stop Russ, Watson, Dak, or Mariota from getting put on their butt more than others the past season.

Didn’t stop Luck or Cam from suffering injuries due to a bad line. For Luck, thankfully Indy has a good OLine now.

You may have a point there Now a question say KK bombs next year and is fired like Wilks was (should have been anyway) do you change the QB yet again just to suit the new coaches system say he wants to go back to the more traditional pro style

Those that believe we should keep Rosen, don't necessarily believe he's a better QB than Murray. They just believe that Rosen deserves another chance or that Rosen+Bosa is better than Murray at 1. If the Cardinals are smart, they can't think like that. The QB position is exponentially more important than any other position in ANY sport. If it's obvious that Murray is better than Rosen, then they have to draft Murray. It really does boil down to that.

I don't see how anyone can say Murray is better than Rosen at this point when he hasn't even taken a single snap in the NFL? What either one did in college doesn't mean jack squat in the NFL.

I believe the debate is mostly about the better fit for the new offense.

Just like people are debating if Bosa can play in the new defense.

All say this again, we don't know exactly how KK is going to run his O in the NFL. He cant run it like he did in college. It won't work. I prefer the idea of Rosen because I think the best bet is merging KKs concepts with a more NFL friendly style offense with the help of the staff.

I believe as others do that with Murray it may look different than if Rosen is the QB. I think the O will be much more mickey mouse if Murray is the QB and I don't like that idea.
Rosen can run an RPO no problem. You use an air raid style RPO system. Its similar to what Mcvay and ried are doing. Its proven to be successful.

There's a reason mcvay was picking the brain of lincoln riley. They want to incorporate his concepts into what they are already doing. Something KK i believe already has in his arsenal. This is why I like the hire. But if it is to gimmicky and college like i believe it will fail. My 2 cents

And debate rages on and on and on... this is truly incredible...

Haven't seen anything like this since the Jake "The Snake" Plummer threads of, say, 2001? 2002?

I am more concerned with Murray's small sample size, his bad off-season plan, and his terrible first half vs Alabama than his height.

I wouldn't take him at 1, and I don't think he is close to Russell Wilson.

But I think the Cardinals are desperate to generate some buzz after last season, and Murray would create a buzz.
