I really don't think Amare is comfortable playing in Phoenix anymore and it shows on the court. Also there is the past injury factor to consider. Additionally he is not the dominant big man the Suns need. Add all these factors together and I think a trade benefits both Amare and the Suns (either now or down the road). One additional thing. I don't think Kerr will sign him to a max contract unless it is a sign and trade.

yeah,
factor his microfracture surgery.

what if Amare signs an extension then gets injured alot like what happened to Hill in Orlando.
scary.

i think it's better to trade him now rather than later.

His microfractured knee is long gone.

I started to think something may be up with his knee with how bad he's been under his usual game but I think that's highly unlikely because he seems as mobile as ever and he's averaging a higher MPG I believe more than last year. Porter always leaves him in there the entire first period and even minutes into the 2nd, and the end of the second, unless he's in foul trouble. Basically he could average 40mpg. If something were wrong with his knee, it would be known and he wouldn't be playing up and down with the Knicks like you see tonight.

No. He really needs to get the hell away from this team.

For some reason I thought the Suns were showcasing Stoudemire tonight.

I wouldn't mind keeping him for a cheap price. I think the league now knows that Amare is not a Max player... of course, Amare doesn't know that yet. I believe is IQ is about 83.

You are right. Amare is the new Marion. Good player to have around for 8-10 mil per year, but for 17-20? I don't think so. Not even close.

Not too long ago I was convinced that Amare could become a top 3 PF of all-time. Today, I was pondering an Amare for Aldridge and Lafrentz deal. How things have changed...

never thought i'd be saying this, but if amare could just be as good as Zach Randolph (statistically), i'd be thrilled. At least Randolph is a 22/11 a game guy, and he actually rebounds the ball well.

I find it funny when people judge Amar'e by his stats and then complain that he cares too much about them.

Absolutely not, we have figured out that he is NOT the type of player you want to build a championship team around.

His knee(s) could be going too.

This team is going to trade Amare, and his new team will either motivate him or use him properly, and we'll all look at it as another Sarver/Kerr mistake.

Only this is one they don't have to make.

Exactly. But I'm not gonna put it all on Sarver/Kerr. I will remember all the fickle, uneducated fans.

I promise you guys the day we trade Amare he will always have us looking back wondering WTF was management thinking.

Plain and simple, trading Amare would be a panic move to an old ass roster needing to be fixed. But you don't fix it by trading away your young Star Bigman.

Rebuild around Amare by moving Nash and even Shaq. Show Amare your committed to making this his team, something which it has never been. Cause right now hes playing like crap cause he feels left out.

A motivated Amare is still one of the scariest players this league has ever seen. And no matter how petty it looks or sounds, Amare dominates rebounding and even on Defense when the Offense is being ran through him and hes scoring alot. He just gets way more into the game.

Don't screw that up by going with the old players that maybe have 1 or 2 years left in this league, over someone that you can build around and compete with for the next decade.

If we can move Nash to Toronto for Calderon we need to do it. Same with Shaq because once hes on the court things run through him before Amare. So both need to be sent packing for younger talent that will contribute but take a backseat to Amare.

We need to actually give him that shot at being top dog first before we consider moving him. Cause it could be the biggest mistake this franchise has ever made.

We arent winning the title with this current group so rebuild and put the spotlight back on Amare and lets finally see what he can do as the captain of the ship.

If we can get equal value in return for Amare then I am all for trading him. Some people above are assuming we get nothing in return. Honestly, if we got someone in return for Amare that was a good defending PF and Good rebounder, I will take that trade. Amare is only good for offense. He is too one dimensional.

Let's face it, there is not that many PF in the league with the complete package. However, given a choice...give me the PF that plays defense and rebounds on a consistent basis.

I agree. I don't think we really need a PF to score 25 points a night that doesn't do anything else on the floor. The questions are really who, and what would have to give to get him?
