I agree. I don't think we really need a PF to score 25 points a night that doesn't do anything else on the floor. The questions are really who, and what would have to give to get him?

The thing though is when Amare is scoring alot hes also rebounding and playing way better defense.

So you know how you get him to keep rebounding and playing solid defense? Keep feeding him the ball and allow him to dominate on offense so hes more motivated in the other aspects of the game.

I'm firmly on the when Amare scores he becomes engaged and other aspects of his game elevate bandwagon.

Problem is:

- the team has pretty much killed the pick & roll, which is his bread and butter.

- He's not a good post player, so it's hard to just feed him the ball.

- He doesn't seem as explosive on his face up drives to the hoop.

He should be able to engage himself in games, not have everyone do it for him IMO.

If we can do a trade similar to what Minnesota did for KG I would consider it.

How about Amare for OJ Mayo/Gasol or Devin Harris/Lopez? Or maybe Aldridge, Bayless, and Outlaw?

I might be overvaluing him but he just got another starting all star nod and while I think he is playing out the string in Phoenix its imperative we get a lot for him if we do in fact trade him.

Because I am of the opinion that he walks in 2010...

Plus lets not forget what has happend over the last week. Amare has been fed the ball time and time again. The results have been more turnovers by Amare, less rebounding and alot of missed shots.

Amare has a good midrange jumper. However, teams have figured out the pick and roll IMO. So, they figure if they crowd the paint, Amare will either turn it over or miss.

Amare seriously needs to develop a back to the basket game. Andrew Bynum went from have a zero back to the basket game to a very good one this year. Amare needs to expand his game. Period.

With Shaq out there its clogging the lanes for Amare.

Thats why Amare has been settling for way more jumpers this season.

Amare needs a center more like Okur, Rasheed Wallace, Big Z or Camby. Someone with a respected outside shot. Those guys would compliment Amare perfectly cause they can draw attention away from the paint. And Amare has been a way better passer this season so he'd mesh well with one of those guys.

That doesn't explain why Amare has been so horrible when Shaq has not been on the floor. What about the last back to back Shaq took off? It was all about Amare and he looked horrible.

That argument just doesn't hold water with all the time Amare is getting on the floor without Shaq.

Its rare to find a team with two players averaging over 10RPG. I just want the 25/9/2/2/2 Amare to show up every game.

I want him to retire before his current contract expires. I want him to join hollywood, he's gonna be more successful there than in NBA.

Even if Amare were to start playing better, I do not want the Suns to rebuild around him, I just don't trust that rebuilt knee. I keep hearing that microfracture knees don't hold up for more than 5 years before they need to have another procedure.
Irreguardless of that fact, I don't Amare back in 2010, I don't him back tommorow, trade him right now before his stock gets any lower.

I just don't think Amare has invested much in the Suns emotionally to persuade him to raise his level of play. Therefore, it is not a very far leap to reach the conclusion he is not the type player the Suns should build a future around.

If we don't get any compensation earlier in a trade, it'd be stupid to not sign Amare back.

I'd rather lose Amare without getting anything in return than sign him to a four of five-year $20M per season deal.

Time to trade him is NOW.

nope. he doesn't give a damn about defense and rebounding. at least not with the suns.

i've always been curious how amare would have turned out as a player if he had say, popavich coaching him. he would be benched so fast if he didn't do those things properly.
