Age and injury creeps in. I don't think the Cards have room on the roster for him at this time.

I'm not advocating to bring him back, but I'm sure he'd sign for the minimum. SF would still have to pay him the difference to $2MM.

Appreciate what DD did for the Cards, my black jersey is a DD jersey. But, he is done and I would not want him to take a roster spot on one of the young guys. Maybe a one day and retire deal but that's all.

Thanks for the memories DD and good luck whatever you end up doing.

+1

I don't know why anybody would want him back on the team not only is he physically done but he did some parting shots as well IIRC....

I'll be ticked off if we bring him back! He's DONE...you don't sign players on what they did in the past...you do it based on what they can do for you NOW! DD isn't 1/2 of what he was...and now coming off the ACL he looks like poo poo. O linemen leaned on him without trying...I don't get how he got this bad...but it is.

I loved who he was...but he's not even a backup DT anymore.

Keim's drafts have been suspect, but his bead on FA and veteran players has been very good. Dockett. Wilson. Rhodes. All were played perfectly in retrospect. Maybe Dansby too...

Yea, I don't hear much about Dansby nowadays. He dropped quit a bit from '13 to '14.

I loved Dockett when he was with the Cards. He was a lovely player. We should all love him for what he contributed. I still love him. You should love him. He loved being here. There was lots of love then. Everyone loved him. His teammates loved him. The coaches loved him. The front office loved him. Even the ladies in the front office loved him. We still love him. You should love him. As St Paul once wrote, "All we need is love." So let's get together and express our love for him so that he will love us back. Our love should go out to him. Everyone should love him immensely. I love him, as I love you all. Remember, love conquers all.

PS. Have a lovely day, and remember to tell your loved ones you love them.

Man this is tough, in dream land seeing him back and kicking arse would be awesome, but times have changed...or more accurately he's gotten older and his abilities have naturally deteriorated.

My personal DD memory - I have a pair of Nike shoes with "90" on the side (they were soccer shoes I bought in Europe (I hate soccer and only bought them as they reminded me of the Cards and DD) that are Red and White and had DD autograph in the Prescott camp. When I asked to sign them he said, "Sweet, I need me some of those!" I don't believe they sell size 14 soccer shoes:)

His passion along with his outspoken nature will be missed. He was a force for many years and a Cardinal prior to the team being what it is today, a respectable organization. Albeit not a major factor he was a part of the metamorphosis of the Cards transforming and as a long suffering fan I'll always appreciate/remember his contributions!
