Who says? What makes the yankees stadium "hallowed"?

I don't think anyone has a problem with celebration, they earned it, but when they come back out of the locker room for that extra it can't help but have an air of classlessness and represents a big middle finger by the club.

It's not hallowed, and neither is the pool.

What I was trying to say is it was not really personal attack or slight. It was dumb, testosterone laced jocks acting like stupid jocks. Every team is capable of being just as stupid. All it takes is their leaders coming up with a dumb idea and they will blindly do it, not thinking even two minutes into the future what it might mean to some people.

You couldn't be more wrong... Are the things in your home worth less to you than anything in my home mean to me? It's wrong to compare the pool to things in other stadiums. The bottom line is that the pool is not the Dodgers pool. Chase Field is not their home. They celebrated on the field when the game ended. They popped the champagne in the clubhouse... Just like all other teams have done for decades. Them they came back out and jumped in a pool that's not theirs. It was wrong and anyone who protested their tacky, classless actions are spot on! And if I'm a Dback player or coach, rest assured this would not at all be swept under the rug!!'

Well, if they start a bean ball war over this, it would be incredibly stupid of Gibson to call for it. It was a disaster this year, it would be even worse to start the season off that way next year. The Dodgers are way more talented than us, you shouldn't want to give them more motivation to beat out butts badly.

I guess I am still reacting to Colin Cow-herd that "it isn't like the Yankees (hallowed by they name) monument park" comment he made the other day. Like because it was AZ and a pool it was nothing. It isn't everything but it isn't nothing.

Which is what makes it classless and unprofessional.

Premeditated or not it is a slight and obvious one.

I totally disagree. You can win with class, the Dodgers don't know how. I was there today and their "fans" are totally classless. There are 220 million reasons they won the division, too bad class is not one of them.

it's classless to tell another team they can't celebrate a major accomplishment when it happens. if you don't want a team celebrating in your house, beat them and keep from them doing it.

A division title only counts as a major accomplishment to a perpetually underachieving franchise like the Dodgers. Blomquist is right, some teams like the Yankees know how to handle success because they actually expect it. You're not going to see them conga line on top of the Green Monster. Nor would most think such is acceptable. They weren't told not to celebrate, they were told not to return after exiting the field. Celebrating, going to the locker room, then coming back and going 400 feet to the pool isn't some spontaneous act.

They didn't want the Dodgers doing what they did... They had no issues with the Dodgers celebrating in a way ALL other teams celebrate...

Beat them? Really? Even the best teams lose 60 games or more a year. I'm sure the DBacks really wanted to win this game so they would not celebrate here. But no one wins them all. Don't call me classless, that would be the Dodgers. That is really a lame reply. Oh yeah, their payroll is 220 mil and ours is under 90, and we should beat them every game. I can't believe people are sticking up for this classless organization. And no one said they could not celebrate, but the pool display was really uncalled for. They were out of line.

I'm generally of the mindset if you don't want a team to celebrate then simply win the game

However, I can't recall many celebrations that left the field of play, went back to the clubhouse area and then came back out into the stadium to celebrate in the actual seats

I think that is the part I have a problem with - jumping over the yellow line into the actual seating portion of the stadium ....... do your field celebration, get back to the clubhouse and spray some champagne and then hit some bars

Great point, well said.

If the Dodger players want a pool, they should tell Magic and the rest of the investors to spring a few bucks more and build them a pool of their own.

That may not be a bad idea. When the air temperature is 85 during a day game, it is over 100 degrees on the infield. Maybe they should schedule those games at 9:00 AM before the June Gloom clouds lift. Actually June Gloom lasts all summer.

One year when visiting friends in Santa Barbara, we hit a game in Dodger stadium (good tickets on StubHub) and, halfway through the game, had to move to the back of the lower level to get out of the sun. And I've lived in Phoenix for 35 years and used to watch Minor League games in Muni back in the day.

Ah yes, I do remember those Muni days too. Those were the days my friend.

Totally agree. The bolded is my take as well. I was steaming mad when I saw it happening.

Totally classless.

Didn't think I could hate the Dodgers any more than I do.

Matt Williams had been sent down by San Fran and I was sitting just behind the screen. After Matty had struck out three times and was waiting on deck, I called the few feet to him, "Williams, you suck!"

He lowered his bat and, boy, did he glare at me. But he went back up to the Giants and became a steady RBI producer. Did I motivate him to . . . who knows.

Couldve fooled me the last 4-6 weeks. Yesterday was the first day I saw gloomy skies in quite some time.

Reports are that some of the Dodgers boasted to their teammates that they p*ssed in the pool.

Stay classy, LA!

The pool was subsequently banned for 100 games for testing positive for 6 different PEDs.

Well, word is they actually stood outside the pool and did it.
That is the height of disrespect to our team and our fans. I hope MLB has the guts to take action vs. the Dodgers.

I have this dream of Corbin drilling Puig in the face with a fastball. Then while he is rolling around on the ground, Montero urinates on him.

Then I remember our organization actually knows the meaning of class.

It doesn't take winning every game to win one of the two N.L. Wild Card spots. Just a better balanced and coached team.

I was directly my comment at us losing that game, which would have kept them from celebrating at our place.. I was just saying we can't win every game. Not trying to rehash about the playoffs. Looking at their rosters, all the playoff teams are better than us. We need some serious help if we want to compete in the playoffs.
