With news that he is working on his mechanics to fit a more pro style offense, he has stated that his goal is to crack the 1st round. What do you think?

No way. Especially not with him completely altering his throwing motion and not showing it off at the combine.

If he is there in the second round i think the cardinals have to take a long hard look at him, we know the exceptional character, proven leader and winner. We have absolutely no plan if leinart falters. Even if we sign a vet backup that will only be a band aid and IMO this is the year to draft a QB not next year, either him or pike will make me happy

I'm not totally opposed to considering that (Tebow as 2nd rounder). But it could only be done if there is not a more obvious pick available there. In other words, when the Cardinals 2nd pick comes around their war room feels that anyone else valued at or above that slot is no longer available, then consider Tebow.

The Cardinals are in need of a #3 QB anyway. Weighing the upside of another rookie QB that may be available later in the draft vs. Tebow at the 2nd round is second part of the decision.

It's not as outrageous a proposal as it first sounds. The downside being if it's later decided that Tebow is not going to pan out, the team has now scrapped a 2nd round pick vs. say, 5th through 7th round pick.

What QB is more likely to succeed a 2nd round QB or a 5th? Every pick is a crap shoot and QB is THE most important position in the league so id rather risk that pick on a QB than an OL

This draft is loaded with defensive talent which just happens to be where we need the most help.

Our first rounder needs to be a starter on defense.

That goes without saying either at DE or OLB but in the 2nd and 3rd round we have to look at QB. IIRC next years QB class isnt nearly as good as this year so its this year or bust for a QB IMO

I love Tebow and think that with his dedication and competitiveness as well as his overall athletic ability, he just may be able to wow a team into grabbing him up in the first. That is as dedicated of a player as you'll find. It may take him a couple years but I really do think he will turn out to be a damn good pro quarterback.

I say he is 3rd talent at best and believe he should be drafted after Pike and Lefeavour.

If Tebow is drafted in the 1st round by anyone, that GM & scouting dept should be fired immediately

I'd be willing to match any bet you like that we will not use our first on either of those positions.

Holmgren: Changing throwing motion hardest thing to do

Tebowmania peaked a short time ago here at Lucas Oil Stadium, when the Flordia quarterback drew the biggest Scouting Combine audience some veteran onlookers had ever seen.

(Speaking at the same time, Packers coach Mike McCarthy had a sparse audience in attendance.)

While most NFL types have praised Tebow all week, Browns grand poobah Mike Holmgren threw a dose of reality into the mix.

Asked about Tebow changing his throwing motion, Holmgren said, "That's the most difficult thing to change in any quarterback. . . . It's hard to do, particularly in pressure situations."

Tebow seemed to have fun with all the attention, but tried to downplay the changes.

"I am holding the ball higher and not dropping [my elbow]. My release point of where I'm throwing the ball is not different at all," Tebow said. "It's how I got to that [point] that you would see the change.

Tebow also said he'd be open to helping a team at any position if he's not a viable quarterback, which is a valuable piece of information to know in case Holmgren's words prove correct.

Really ill take that bet because our pick will be one of 3 guys IMO

1)Carlos Dunlap DE
2)Sean Weatherspoon OLB might play inside in a 3-4
3)Brandon Graham OLB/DE

Well considering that you are wrong about Dunlap and Graham I'd be happy to match that. Weatherspoon wouldn't play OLB for us so he isn't an OLB. If the Seahawks pick him he's an OLB. If the Cards did he's a WILB

Tim Tebow might not play QB but for right now hes a QB so Weatherspoon has always played OLB so he is an OLB until the cards draft him and play him at ILB. I think the cards would be all over Graham if hes there.
