It's ironic that, with Elmer Dessens held out due to an off-day, then inserted into the rotation between Johnson and Schilling, the rotation now looks like this:

Johnson/Dessens/Schilling/Batista/Webb

Or, if you start with Sunday's rotation:

Schilling/Batista/Webb/Johnson/Dessens.

We've heard hints that Randy's knee and back are still bothering him. Perhaps the prudent thing to do now is place him back on the DL for 3-4 weeks, and let him rest up and rehabilitate.

Then, when we're nearing the post-season, Randy can hopefully return and get ready.

We do have a lefty, who pitched a good game in his last D'back start, to bring back up. And, with the success the BabyBacks have given us earlier in the season, this rotation looks pretty good:

Schilling/Batista/Webb/Capuano/Dessens. It's all set for Chris to slip right in!

I believe there's more to Randy's physical problems than they're letting on. Hopefully, that's the explanation, rather than his age. Clearly, something is wrong!

I'm beginning to think that maybe shutting RJ down for the season might be a better idea - he doesn't look anything like his normal dominating self, and I would hate to see him ruin his remaining few years just to try and salvage this season.

His delivery does not look the same. His knee is not going as high as it use to. I hope this is not a career ending thing but I have heard it could be.
