Going into this year's offseason, I felt that NE had the best pair of TE's in the NFL. And ours was at the other end of the spectrum. Sure I was excited by the potential of Rob Housler and had hopes that DC Jefferson would contribute, but I felt that we needed someone more experienced at the position. And because of injuries, I'm not sure that Jeff King was that guy. Since KC signed Anthony Fasano and drafted Travis Kelce, I envisioned that Tony Moeaki would become available, or someone like him. Now that NE is desperate at that position (there's talk that Tim Tebow will play TE) we will certainly have to pay more, possible bidding war, for FA's or if we go the trade route, have to offer a higher draft pick. Of course this is just my opinion and the team is happy with our TE's.

TE is the one position that I thought we would of drafted high.

Maybe, but the one thing this Cardinals have that NE doesn't is a solid WR corps. Losing a TE to FA wouldn't have a drastic effect on the Cards offense.

I think the Cards had the TE from Stanford pegged for round 2 but somebody snagged him a few picks before the Cards had a shot at him.

We DO have better WR's than NE, but my point is that NE is going to make it harder for us to improve our TE corps.

How is NE cap space? Hernandez just signed a big extension last year. It's not like they can just make it go away.

Playing Tebow as a TE/H-Back would be the best damn thing to happen for his career. The guy is a football player, just not a QB.

I think that with our new coaches and BA's offensive philosophy we will develop and utilize our TEs much better than under Whiz.

Yes. He's absolutely a good football player. He's a crappy quarterback. And a decent preacher, I guess.

Then say he is a good football player. Don't be Ron Wolfley/joe Bugel and call him a football player. One who plays football. It is just dumb. :mulli:

2007-2010 the Cards TEs averaged 27 receptions per season.

2011-2012 they averaged 68.

Of those 136 receptions Housler had 57.

Jim Dray had 4. :p

It won't affect us not one bit. We aren't getting any major FA's anymore. This is the team we will roll with.
