PALM BEACH — The Miami Dolphins are not planning to trade star wide receiver Tyreek Hill at this time, according to coach Mike McDaniel.

McDaniel spoke to the media for the first time in a month at the NFL annual meeting at The Breakers in Palm Beach on Monday morning and offered no indication the team is shopping Hill around in the midst of an eventful offseason for him.

“We are fully planning to move forward as a better version of our relationship,” McDaniel said.

But he cautioned not to offer any ultimate definitive stance, with the knowledge those words could be used against him if something were to transpire.

“A lot of things can happen in the National Football League,” he said.

Hill started the offseason by saying he wanted out from the team in the locker room after the team’s season finale against the New York Jets. He has since walked back that stance in a series of interviews, while general manager Chris Grier said, days after the comments, Hill had not requested a trade with him.

The drama was sparked again Sunday evening, as Hill posted a series of two-finger emojis, a way of saying “peace” and “goodbye,” on X in bringing up posts speculating over a potential trade from the Dolphins.

McDaniel said he has not spoken with Hill about the cryptic tweets, who is often known to troll with his social media posts.

“Tyreek’s known for whatever antics on social media,” McDaniel said.

He said he’s confident, if something really needed to be communicated, he would hear it from Hill himself. McDaniel noted that Hill has been in the team’s building often early in the offseason and working with new wide receivers coach Robert Prince.

Hill had offseason surgery on a wrist for ligament damage.

McDaniel said the team is not rushing him in coming back. Hill is able to run at this point, and the Dolphins hope for him to be available to use his hands and catch footballs.

This story will be updated.
