Jordan blows & was over drafted based on athletic talent, Wallace is strictly a bomb guy who makes too much $$$ & Wake is a beast.

curious about Dion Jordan

Oregon used him as a jack of all trades who only rushed the passer on a part time basis

he fits the length / speed idea Keim expressed

no idea on the physical or smart part

I wouldnt give up #20 for him

but #52? dont know

The Dolphins tried to use him as a 4-3 DE which he is not. He was a terrible fit for their scheme. I beleive that Jordan could be special as a stand up 3-4 OLB. A 2nd round pick would be well worth the risk if you asked me. Plus his base salary is super cheap for a pass rusher.

Evidence of the dysfunction of the Dolphins under Jeff Ireland.

1. Trade up in the draft to get Jordan at #3. Shades of Trent Richardson. Dolphins trying to claw back some value of this disaster pick.

2. Mike Wallace huge salary, which was competing with no other offer, poor ROI adds up to another Ireland blunder.

3. Ross blunders and hires Joe Philbin, a bumbling moron of a HC. Finally fires Ireland and sticks the new guy with Philbin. Could have fired both and allowed the new GM, Dennis Hickey, to hire his own HC and dump the mistakes in one fell swoop.

Dolphins are the poster child for bad franchise. Bumbling owner/disastrous front office. Terrible roster. Eroding fanbase.

Dion Jordan is a bust and not worth anything. Mulli still needs to change it avatar over losing that bet, but conveniently disappeared when it was time to pay up.

Dion Jordan is a bust.

maybe

but at the same time-- i have watched SF jump on guys like Ahmad Brooks and Donte Whitner -- highly regarded players coming out that didnt work out with their original teams

Seattle traded a mid round pick for Marshawn Lynch, another highly drafted guy whose original team gave up on them

maybe Jordan was miscast as a 4/3 DE. Maybe a move to 3-4 OLB would free him up.

Depending on the price tag, I'd love the idea of taking a shot at Jordan. Not for a 2nd or higher, but for our #3, I'd consider it. He has a ton of athletic ability, and is a decent enough flyer compared to what we'd get closer to the end of the third round.

BA would light a fire under Wallace something fierce---if they can get him to redo his contract after a trade, maybe something can happen here.

+1. 3rd rounder, especially if we can trade down in the 1st to pick up a 3rd rounder.

I'd trade our second rounder right now for Dion Jordan. We're not going to get a better prospect than him with our second round pick, and we'd have him for four more cost-controlled years. What an amazing deal that would be. We wouldn't even have to give up an additional year's service, since second-rounders only get four-year deals!

This.
Everyone is quick to call players a bust. Yet the smart teams pick them up for peanuts. Carlos Rodgers of the 9ers fits into that mold also.

I'd give a second rounder for Jordan right now in a heart beat. Miami is just a joke wrong scheme for him and he probably got no coaching at all. Bring him here let him get with these guys on defense to take him under there wings.

As far as Wallace hell no. He's a one trick pony and that contact is horrible his agent got his moneys worth

This again and again, my poor brother inlaw is a Dolphin fan and he now watches the front office for entertainment value lol

Jordan got pushed around pretty good in Miami this year. Teams ran the ball straight at him and ran it pretty well, not sure he fits that well with our defense. I suppose I would part with a third day pick for him, but I think some other team will probably offer more.

Cameron Wake is a great player, but at 32 years old could he transition to OLB from 4-3 Def End? I am not sure that is a great idea. He is only 258 lbs, so probably not going to play end in the 3-4. I think he needs to stay in the 4-3 defense.

Mike Wallace has a huge contract (with $30 million bonus money) given to him just last year. Not sure how Miami is going to pull off trading him, but I would imagine they will ask for a ton if they have already paid the bonus money.

Too each their own, but I think you guys are nuts! Jordan was a athletic freak but NEVER showed big time pass rushing skills in college regardless of the scheme & what he was asked to do. If I'm signing/drafting/trading for a 3-4 OLB, that's the first thing I'm looking for! Hell, Acho & Okafor showed more pass rushing skills in college & I think they're just solid NFL players. Dion Jordan is just like the OLB the Hawks drafted #1 a few years ago from Wake Forest who failed miserably IMO.

Pass...unless he's cut, I'm not not giving up a stick of gum for him. Just my 2 cents.

And people should pay attention to this Bucky... we have currently the combine which is going on where players are judged as athletes and not football players... pass on Jordan

Did they have him play coverage and if so with his speed and length could he cover TE's?

As I said, I knew they used him more in coverage but I wonder why? Pass rushers wreck passing teams gameplans & if he was so great at that why wasn't he used as one in the Ducks 3-4 scheme? Hmmm :D Seattles DB's are great but they romped the best offense in NFL history because they hit Manning over & over! It would be like asking Von Miller to cover 50% of the time! which is ludicrous.

IMO the #1 skillset a 3-4 OLB better have is sacks, pressures & QB hits. Why are the Fins shopping him again?

He played in a 3-4 scheme at Oregon they moved him all over he played at least one every single position on defense. This guy was an OLB and the dolphins tried to make him a 4-3 defensive end. Hell Dion Jordan played safety a hell of allot his last season at Oregon and yes he covers tight ends very well.

When he was asked to rush the passer in college he did it very well
