What's his contract status? With Houston looking like they will draft Reggie Bush will Davis be available and what does everyone think of him? He hasn't played a full 16 games in a season yet but has been one of the few bright spots for the Texans offense. I think he's better than any RB we currently have on roster.

Also, a cheap power back I'd like the Cards to bring in is Ron Dayne. Again, he's a much better short yardage option then we currently have.

In a heartbeat. He is a great back, and he is a proven NFL back. Let Houston take Reggie Bush, if that means we get a shot at Davis.

Davis wont go anywhere. Davis just signed a contract extension and the team would loss money if cut or traded. But at the same time its a cap freindly contract his first 2 years. Wont be traded until next year IMO, to lessen the cap hit and now for Sure that Bush is a full time RB. Plus They will still need Davis to run the rock with regularity and Block for Carr for them if they do get Bush.

I like Dayne, or should I say, the new svelte version... but, one of the key reasons he was let go by the Giants, was his inability in short yardage situations.

I love the Davis idea, but it's not gonna happen. Houston might be willing to trade the Reggie Bush pick -- for the right amount -- though I think the Cards would have to give up too much to jump all the way up from 10.

I like Dayne as well, but not as a full timer. I don't think Denver would be willing to give up any of the other two (Anderson or Bell) but you never know. They have traded their leading rusher in each of the last two seasons.

Others to consider:

Chester Taylor (4.3 YPC in 4 years backing up Jamal Lewis)
Michael Pittman with the emergence of Cadillac Williams (just kidding)
Ricky Williams if he is sane and Ronnie Brown is gonna be full timer
Thomas Jones if the Bears feel Cedric Benson is ready (just kidding again)
Maybe one of the two Atlanta backs (doubtful)
Priest Holmes?

The only one from that group I really like is Taylor, with Williams as a maybe depending on mental health.
