Yeah, even as a fat tub, he's a top 5 player in the league. Davis is just as unreliable as Luka and he's much older.

Bonkers.
They showed on sports center last night how AD played 77 games last season, and I think he's played all the games so far this season. While Luka has missed 22 games so far this year and a bunch last season. Who would have thought AD was missing less time?

His value would tank?

The Lakers almost could not have given up less for him.

AD is 32. He has averaged about 50 games per year availability till last year.

Houston and OKC have so many good young players and draft picks they don't even know what to do with them all - and you seriously believe they could not and would not offer more that that pathetic package??

Both those teams would have a VERY VERY legit chance to win a title this year with Doncic. That has a way of helping convince someone to stay - but even if it didn't they have so many assets buying a great chance at the title would be worth it since they have more assets than they can even use currently.
If KD garnered 4 first round picks, Luka at 25 would have been at LEAST 4 first rounders. That would have been the floor.

I definitely can see why Dallas traded Luka. They did not want to spend all that money he will be getting on someone who does not take care of his body like he should be doing. We hear the stories of Luka likes to eat and drink, it will be interesting to see how he handles the nightlife in LA. I can see in 3-4 years Luka's body breaking down.
That's what I said last night. This guy in LA with all those hot body actresses out there. He's going to be prime A tabloid material.

luka and kyrie are a bad fit because two people can't occupy the same space at the same time - hell - suns thought they could get away with three

mavs want the best scorer (kyrie) the best power forward (ad) and gafford at center (who's going to become amazing next to ad)

mavs are doing what the suns try to do - big gamble - huge gamble - 3 year window to bring one home - they may be able to do it - craziest part is we'll definitely see mavs lakers face off in the playoffs
The Mavs resemble a more traditional lineup. Someone posted the starting five for the Lakers and it's horrible. The Lakers are definitely not winning this season. Unless they have back up trades going. Jaxson Hayes is their starting center right now. BUT you know LA, those are the hottest tickets in LA right now. Everyone will want to see Luka's first home game. Resale on those will be epic. LA will be putting butts in seats so everyone can see LeBron play with Luka.

The weirdest part to me is that Cuban signed off on this. I wonder whether he's getting out. Seeing some of his fellow billionaires grow into political powers might have him thinking he needs to get into the game quickly.

I believe he's just a minor owner now. I think I read he's sold most of his shares.

Edit: Mark Cuban sells off majority stake in Mavs

ive been to dallas - or as the hippies like to call it - dallass - this has got to suck for ad - i definitely don't think he was in the loop on this

from hollywood to dallass - from kendrick lammar to cowboy troy - ad's got what? 3 years left on his contract? dallass was smart in that aspect - where as luka and the lakers have yet to negotiate

Cuban doesn’t own the team anymore. He sold last year for 3.5 billion

Cuban has a history of selling before the music stops. Luka was due for $350 million making $70 million per year. Eventually this TV money has got to stop its parabolic increase at some point, no?

Yes, but they just resigned for 11 years at an absurdly high rate. It won't stop till then.
