For whatever it's worth, since Luka came into the NBA his team (with and without him) has gone 12-19 against the Suns. How in the world do you really think this makes the Mav's better?
I seriously cannot comprehend this line of thinking.
AD has NEVER scared me as an opponent. Luka has single handedly killed the Suns 25 times minimum.
That would help a lot of teams. Like the Suns, actually..
Dallas is shooting 37% from 3 which is 10th. They’re 7th in offensive rating with Luka missing half the season. An elite two way big man would do wonders for them.
I think this is the new NBA. Teams have watched the Suns and other teams over the Second Apron, and they want to be flexible. At least stay in the first apron if they go over. There's going to be more pickiness over giving a guy $280 million. For whatever it's worth, since Luka came into the NBA his team (with and without him) has gone 12-19 against the Suns.
As for the trade, I don't think it makes the Mavs better but I believe it gives them a better chance to win it all this season. With Luka's hamstring and reported conditioning, I'm not sure how much of a factor he'll be this year.
I think Dallas was fleeced in this deal from a value standpoint but if they felt compelled to move him to the Lakers than it would start to make some sense.
Yeah, I'm sure the new rules have a lot to do with what's going on.I think this is the new NBA. Teams have watched the Suns and other teams over the Second Apron, and they want to be flexible. Maybe Lakers trade for Zion now? You may be onto something!Yes. Luka is low key a diva and has the same metabolism as Zion Williamson.
But of course the Lakers are once again the benefactors of a lopsided trade
I don't necessarily disagree with this (about having to be selective with who you give max and supermax money to), but Luka is a generational player. Ignoring that, the return for a Doncic trade should have been way higher, and would have been if they opened it up for bidding.I think this is the new NBA. Not to be rude at all, but you sound like the sky is falling. Teams are allowed to make trades. Not all trade happen Jimmy Bulter/James Harden style. We fans aren’t privy to the inner workings of a basketball team. No rules were violated and it’s a win-win for both clubs. Definitely now for the Mavs, maybe later for the Lakers. I think the risk is big on the Laker side. How in the world do you really think this makes the Mav's better?

yeah I kind of feel like the sky is falling as a mavs fan. but not for the same reasons. doncic was my favorite player for dallas and the main reason that I would watch their games, in a league that is otherwise hard to watch now. that aside, I don't think there is some conspiracy for the lakers. that is going really far, but is to be expected because everyone thinks everything is rigged for whatever reason. Not to be rude at all, but you sound like the sky is falling. yeah I've heard Luka was not aware of the deal and I think a lot of the reports that he wanted out of dallas are overblown. he was also set to make a lot of money in dallas in the future.Mavericks social media team posted this just 8 hours before the trade.

I agree with your statements. Doncic is favorite of mine and the NBA is hard to watch.yeah I kind of feel like the sky is falling as a mavs fan. but not for the same reasons. doncic was my favorite player for dallas and the main reason that I would watch their games, in a league that is otherwise hard to watch now. that aside, I don't think there is some conspiracy for the lakers. that is going really far, but is to be expected because everyone thinks everything is rigged for whatever reason.
dallas would probably need to make other deals and signings in the future to be competitive long term and make up for Luka's loss. AD is a great player when healthy, but not the long term answer. In my opinion the "trade" is seriously lopsided and Dallas is obviously amongst the more incompetent clubs in the league. After all they went after that washed up SG from Golden State, the guy with four rings, so they are in decline. Thankfully I am not a Mavs fan.
We used to own Luka and the Mavs but it turned really bad some years ago. I love the picture of Ayton and Bridges being dads and Luka as a kid on a bike.
It is a good thing to be athletic and good inside as long as they have good shooters as well. Maybe they can challenge Boston this year who knows. I might be wrong and they might be geniouses.

hard to say. once things go public it can ruin a trade and teams are most likely not going to be willing to give as much once everyone knows you no longer want a player. Harrison got the player that he wanted in return, but I don't think they got enough draft capital. that said they could have gotten multiple first round picks for doncic and got nothing out of it. AD is the closest thing to being fair return. It's not a terrible trade for Mavericks fans, but if Dallas had opened up the trade to other NBA teams, the offers would have been almost other worldly.

I look at people saying this trade should have been nixed like the CP3 to LA trade. Are we kidding. The NBA has a young Luka in LA! The Laker games will be as many national games now as possible. This is the best case scenario for the NBA offices.yeah I kind of feel like the sky is falling as a mavs fan. but not for the same reasons. doncic was my favorite player for dallas and the main reason that I would watch their games, in a league that is otherwise hard to watch now. that aside, I don't think there is some conspiracy for the lakers. that is going really far, but is to be expected because everyone thinks everything is rigged for whatever reason.
