I agree. Mavs should have taken all the Lakers picks. That’s called asset mis-management, not rigged. There are many poorly run front offices. Rigged is the lazy take. The ol’ woe is me.
Come on. Nobody in the nba knows about the trade till it happens.

The job of the GM is to improve the team to the best of your ability. Keeping this secret and not even getting all of the Lakers assets is beyond a fireable offense. - it is actually working against your teams interests.

Nobody who is hired as an NBA gm can possibly be that incompetent. The nba directed this to happen for obvious reasons. The fact that he has still not been fired proves they knew what he was doing, which means he was not some rogue guy that had a mental breakdown, so several people went against the franchises best interests.

There is only one reason to intentionally go against the franchises best interests, the nba promised to make it up to them.

No it doesn’t make sense. Even if for some insane reason ad is your guy the least you can do is get all their picks and young players along with him.

One reason you don’t do that, it’s rigged.
Except you have to match salaries. Maybe it started getting weird them trading guys they may want to keep versus gaining players. They had worked on this for weeks according to the articles. Probably every angle was explored. This is what they ended up doing. Just the one first rounder is weird. They could have asked for that. Swapped picks, whatever.

Trading for Durant isn’t even close to the same realm as trading Luka for AD
no because KD was old already and past his prime. KD whined about the Luka trade, but I think it is just a way for him to justify his decision to leave OKC and chase a ring with GS.

The kings got more for fox than Dallas got for Luka and he was threatening to only sign with the spurs.

I seriously can’t believe people believe this wasn’t rigged.

It depends on what you think the trade value of Anthony Davis was on the open market.

IMO, he was worth more than what the Kings received.

The weirdest part to me is that Cuban signed off on this. I wonder whether he's getting out. Seeing some of his fellow billionaires grow into political powers might have him thinking he needs to get into the game quickly.
Cuban only owns 27% now. He sold controlling interest. Word is he wasn’t involved.
