lebron never been second fiddle but he is now
Oh just wait. This is going to blowup NOT IF but WHEN he becomes the center of the offense. My prediction is Lebron wants out by end of season.Yeah… this is pretty ridiculous.
.just talked to a hardcore parkour mavs fan for a few minutes - you'd think this trade happened yesterday because homie is still freshly pissed - and i quote - "i don't care if we win a championship this year i won't enjoy it - i will not celebrate it - we need a new gm and new ownership"
Did you mean her trap?.
Same here. My bro lives in DFW and he said they can’t get thru the natural stages of grief because the dumb*** owner keeps yapping his trap. It’s like stop insulting your fansbase’s intelligence already.
The Mavs will soon be in just as bad a spot as we are. Kyrie has so much leverage now he can probably get a max plus NTC into his mid-30’s.

I can understand it a little bit if you firmly believed that Doncic could have led you to multiple championships. But yeah, as a Suns fan, it's hard to not be grateful for a single championship in your lifetime.I don’t get it.. is he not a fan of the team or is he just a fan of the player? Sounds more like he is a fan of the player.
If the Cardinals traded Fitz away in his prime for nothing I would be piss but that all goes away if we won a championship.. the goal was accomplished..
I didn't use to care so much about championships. I loved watching the team play and I cared about every single game. I wanted us to win a title but building a team that appeared capable of winning a title was the main thing I was concerned about. Somewhere along the line I joined the "we're losers if we don't win it all" group and my fandom has taken a nosedive as a result.I can understand it a little bit if you firmly believed that Doncic could have led you to multiple championships. I think at a certain age or certain numbers of years of fandom if you never win one your fandom has to eventually evolve to that. Ultimately sports is about winning and losing. The ultimate winning is a championship. If you’ve been cheering for a team for decades and never experience that as you see others get to do so eventually it just has to be somewhat consuming. Made all the worse by being an Arizona fan where all you have to hang your hat on is:I didn't use to care so much about championships. You nailed it Ouchie. I have been a fan of Arizona sports teams since the 50's. But we have only 2 (what I considered major sports) championships in all that time. The Diamondbacks team in 2001 was magical. Yeah, we mortgaged the future (like no one else has ever bought a championship) but that team was special and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Then there is the Wildcats' National Championship in 97. I was on a business trip to SF and watched the game with a co-worker in a bar. We were the only two cheering on Arizona. Man, the highly ranked seeds they had to beat to win it all was the best I have ever witnessed. It made this Arizona guy so proud (and I am an ASU grad). We have had multiple chances for major championships, but this is all we have to show for it. I don't see another major championship in the near future, but that is all I can hope for. Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.I think at a certain age or certain numbers of years of fandom if you never win one your fandom has to eventually evolve to that. One World Series
One Arizona basketball ncaa championship
Mercury and rattlers championahips
I mean, that’s freaking bleak for a major metropolitan area that had all four professional sports teams and two power conference colleges.
I’d give anything for those 1988-1992 KJ/Horny 50 wins and at least one playoff series win clubs again.I didn't use to care so much about championships. Well, unfortunately, we haven't even had that the last two seasons. At this point, I'd be happy to get back to there for starters.I didn't use to care so much about championships. the governor of the mavs is the owner's son in law. since the trade he's gone on to call out Luka basically for being lazy and ironically lauded Shaq for his work ethic in the same rant. pretty hypocritical when we know that shaq and Kobe feuded over shaq's fitness. it just goes to show how incompetent he is to make that type of a comparison. beyond that mavs employees have been removing fans for basically any type of anti mavs demonstrations in the arena. kind of petty and not the way to reach out to the people who pay a lot of money to see your product. some people were calling the Arena a police state lol..

DFW is still pissed and shocked by the doncic trade. dirk was on the radio on Friday night for a scheduled appearance that he admitted to not wanting to attend after the Luka Trade went down. I think Dallas is spoiled to have had people like Dirk and Roger Staubach/Emmitt Smith. just great salt of the earth guys. I think one of the issues here is that many mavs fans saw doncic as the next dirk. someone that would be there forever. As a fan of dirk and doncic I can say that every time I watched them play you knew that you were seeing something special. it's really tough to move on from it because so many people were blinded by this trade and now AD is already seriously injured as well. it just doesn't make any sense. I've never turned on any of my home teams before and I don't think that I will turn on the mavs completely. I will probably be rooting for doncic to destroy them in his return. But I actually can see myself turning on the mavs if the ownership doesn't make amends by acknowledging the fans more than they have. and if they move the franchise I definitely won't be a fan anymore.
yeah for sure. Nico Harrison definitely leveraged his lakers ties. it really doesn't make sense why he would not open it up beyond that. there are rumors that he called the bucks and wolves for their top guys, but was shot down. not sure if it is true or not though because according to Harrison himself, the lakers were the only team he called. It's a double whammy because of all teams, the Mavericks helped the Lakers and didn't even get into a bidding process with Doncic.

maybe and even shaq himself was one of the first to weigh in on the trade and defend Doncic's fitness by using his own personal testimony regarding that topic. so yeah it's really dumb of the mavs governor to say that. he got nailed by the press in dallas for that rant. and now everyone thinks he's incompetent.Shaq is one of the most popular analysts now so I have a feeling he's stroking Shaq's ego to keep a media voice on his side. I agree with your point though, Shaq was lazy and selfish in how he made it a point to only work on himself physically during the season when checks were clearing. I believe the Mavs Gov has an ulterior motive by praising Shaq tho. Time will tell if he was right regarding Luka.
it also reminds me a little of the jerry west/pao gasol stuff. wasn't it West that traded him to LA to basically line up Kobe's second run? like wtf are you doing. but this is worse for me because doncic is a legit top 5 player and gasol was not. It's a double whammy because of all teams, the Mavericks helped the Lakers and didn't even get into a bidding process with Doncic.
