BA moved Veldheer to RT...he's been a LT his entire career. Thats on BA, and the refusal to help out with TE's and RB's is classic BA.

Palmer can audible...and for sure he can vary the snap count. That's not all BA.

he started in the league as a guard...we could have moved him to LG and cut Iupati, who has been worthless since he got here...use iupatis money to sign a RT

I doubt this team can audible... the play is called into Palmer as a number, he reads that numbers play on his arm band, he then goes to huddle and reads the play to the team.. they then go to the line (with the clock now an issue) and if he was to audible, do you really think this team is going to immediately recognize the 174th out of 200 plays ? which they have probably NOT practiced all week anyway...

I just don't see that as likely

I finally watched the replay on GamePass. What was it Gruden said? BA plays 'old-school' football. Wants only a pocket passer and a vertical game. Or is it his unwillingness to adjust? Either way, stubborn and loyal to a fault.

Oh, and they seem to put all their eggs in one basket, and when that basket gets injured, they don't adjust quickly enough.

So that means you know he doesnt call 2-3 plays? he does change plays, just because you dont see it doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

with empty backfield you can't audible to a run game... at least not a conventional one with our empty backfields.

But going to a FB/TE in that formation with DJ/AE as RB/WR would .. is aparentliy asking too much from BA.

a blocking strong FB/TE type of player not only would improve our rungame, but also give us a whole new dimension ...

I saw a whole article a few years back about Palmer and Arians regarding the plays and how Palmer would change routes for the WRs with certain mannerisms removed from a vocal cue. What I am getting at is that even though lets say he would go to the line of scrimmage with only one play, those plays in Arians' offense have variables which make them multiple plays within themselves and probably why some term Arians' offense as complex... that same play might have as many as 5 different variations depending on what the defense presents Palmer and why we probably seem to have those funky screw ups where you ask where is Palmer throwing when the WR and him did not get the alteration right before the snap and then runs the wrong route
