Don't ever let someone try to convince he wasn't the biggest bust ever.

Former NFL bust Ryan Leaf indicted in Texas

Former San Diego Chargers quarterback and West Texas A&M University coach Ryan Leaf is indicted Thursday by a Randall County Grand Jury in Texas, according to newschannel10.com.

Leaf was indicted on seven counts of Obtaining a Controlled Substance By Fraud, 1 count of Burglary Of A Habitation, and 1 count of Delivery Of A Controlled Substance.

The Randall County District Attorney's office say the dates of these charges span from January of 2008 through last October.

What's worse is that he should be sent to rehab.

But those charges sound like jail-time.

I would say that is a bigger 'bust' than Ryan Leaf and NFL. But no doubt he was the biggest bust in at least the last 25 years (and according to nfl network #1 overall).

I wonder what he said to his attorney when he asked Ryan what his excuse was...

My guess is the response went like this:

Attorney: Ryan, what do you have to say for yourself?

Ryan Leaf: DONT TALK TO ME ALRIGHT!!

Just shows you what happens when people get carried away trying to tear down #1. If it hadn't been for people wanting to dis Peyton Manning I'd bet Leaf never gets the high rating he did.

The best trade the Cardinals ever made ( swapping w/ San Diego during the 1998 draft.).

I truly feel sorry for the guy. What he did was wrong but put yourself in his shoes. The guy was labeled a cant-miss prospect, paid millions of dollars, got hurt, didn't play well when healthy, flames out of the league. Will forever be labeled a bust wherever he goes and his career will follow as well. Mental and psychological issues are going to plague that man for the rest of his life.

Lawrence Phillips?

That dude is just a criminal who hurts others. Leaf hurts himself.

First, what does a brief addiction to painkillers have to do with being a bust?

Second, Ryan Leaf's career ended due to injury, not because he of a lack of interest from teams. His throwing wrist ws destroyed and he cant throw a ball anymore.

With all of the scumbags that we worship in pro sports these days, I really dont think Leaf should be catching all that much flak.

I hate hearing that players are busts. Why not say that teams are stupid and make poor picks? It wasn't Calvin Pace and BJ's fault that Graves took them too early and plaugged Pace into a position he wasn't built for. The Chargers took Leaf, surrounded him with nothing and fed him to the wolves. Obviously he was immature and unready, but it was their job to handle him correctly and they failed miserably as well.

You are way off. Mandarich returned to the league as a guard and started for a number of years with Indy until a back injury ended his career. He rehabilitated his career on the field... LEAF most certainly did not.

Someone should put all these busts together and have an all-bust team.
Then again isn't that what the Faiders usually do?

He deserved every bit of flak he got, not because of what he did on the field, but for being a first class douche bag.

Obviously he was immature and unready, but it was their job to handle him correctly and they failed miserably as well.

His parents failed him, not the organization.. Where they failed was drafting him, I can't imagine after interviewing him for even 5 minutes, that you wouldn't know what an idiot he was.
